Thank you. I really wish you were my daughters teacher. Reading the comments I can see a lot of teachers a failing. My daughters teach gave up and is just there to collect a paycheck. Her love of teaching is gone. She doesn’t answer questions and tells them to figure it out themselves. If children don’t understand, how can they figure it out themselves. Sigh Thank you Sir❤️😞

So curious, my math problem reads "-8x = -3y - 9" does it matter which side of the "=" sign my Y is on since it has to follow the formula exactly or does it not matter since the values can be interpreted either way? My answer is the same either way, with the exception of positive or negative signs depending on which side of my "=" the Y is

It doesn't matter so long as your "y" is isolated on its side of the equation. Essentially, y=mx+b is the same as mx+b=y. I hope that helps.

I have a question but how would i find variable for missing coordinates with slope examples a line connects (0, 2-4k) and (4k, 8) with a slope of 9/5 would this strategy work too?

You would just need to plug your second coordinates into the y=mx+b equation. 9/5 is m and 2-4k is b (your x intercept). That is certainly a tricky problem though.
