Looking at a 2003 Club Car golf cart. Appears to be a DS based on body style but serial number is odd. Doesnt start w an A. Its: NQ0399. Help. What does this mean?

NQ was a electric vehicle called the Pathway. Its engineering top level vehicle drawing number was 102241403. It is not a DS.

Hello! Great question! First, we would check the week of manufacture on the serial number. With 52 weeks in a year, the 27th and 28th weeks are the dividing line. Another, and perhaps more fool-proof way is to open up your dash panel. If behind your dash panel, you see an EMPTY (meaning not plugged into anything) 12-pin connector, you have a 2004 to mid-2008 model. If however, you find everything plugged together behind your dash panel and there is no empty 12-pin connector, you have a mid-2008 or newer model.

Also did they switch from 4 12volts to 6 8volts half way through 2008?

Travis, this is an answer that we got from Buggies Gone Wild regarding the 4 12V batterys vs 6 8V batteries. "1/2 way through 2008. The manufacturing dates of the 6-8 v tray is probably early 2008, but the 6-8’s didn’t come out until 2008.5."

There is no such thing as a 2008.5. Model Year typically starts July 1st and runs through June 30th of the next year. So manufacturing week 01 is the first week of July.

Without the second serial prefix I cannot tell you. The Qs listings include Carryall 1, Carryal 2, Street Rod chassis, Carryall 242, Carryall 272, Japanese Limo 6 and 8, as well as Turf 2.
