Sometimes when I buy the cakes, if I can't find the inside end. I simply use my ball winder and wind from the out side.( I hate yarn barf lol) If I want to start with the color that was in the middle to begin with, I just rewind it again. (Yellow in the middle becomes yellow on the out side. Rewind and the yellow will be in the middle again) . But most of the time I can find the inside end. Also if you are using a ball winder, if you put a piece of contrasting yarn on the end where you start the wind, you will be able to see it easier. Have a peaceful day.😊 everyone and stay safe. P.S. love your show.💖 stay safe, keep calm and carry on. 😄

I've had a cake of Mandala yarn, and the center piece popped out, and MAN I experienced quite a bit of tangles! I was up all night trying to untangle that messy yarn, while at the same time, I was frustrated with it. The next day, I was trying to work with the tangles yarn, and again, I was so frustrated to the point that I said, 'I'm done!' and ended up throwing the messy tangled part of the yarn away! I still got most of it, must when saw your nice video, that really helped--thank you so much!!

Just did a blanket with sc and dc stitches looks great but the sides are not long enough how can I make sides longer to go over the bed .Do I have to go around the whole blanket or can I just start at the side ?
@JaydaInStitches5 жыл бұрын
Hi Debra, the easiest way to add width and height to a blanket is by adding a border. It doesn't have to be fancy and you can add as many rows as you want or need to. I would begin by working a single crochet row around the entire blanket and then decide if you want to try a fancy stitch, use a taller stitch (like a double crochet) or just keep adding rows of single crochet. The even border around the whole blanket gives the blanket a nice frame and some added strength too :)

That was so helpful, but how about for your yarn comes in hanks? How do you unwrap it to make a ball, I tried and made a big mess of the yarn. Help please! 😮
@JaydaInStitches6 жыл бұрын
Hi Monica, I must admit, I don't have too many skeins that come in hanks. The odd time that I have had one, I've unwound it from the outside end and rewound it (by hand) into a ball. Doing this slowly generally keeps the tangles at bay. It's best to have it on a clear surface like a table or counter too so it's not rubbing against the carpet or tangling up with any other yarns :)

Is there only a start of yarn and end to yarn, is caron baby cakes continuous yarn
@JaydaInStitches3 жыл бұрын
Hi Janice, a skein should only have 2 ends, the one on the outside and the one on the inside. Some lower quality skeins will have knots in them where the yarn has been joined to continue spinning, and really "cheap" (often mill ends) will sometimes not have knots and you might find that the skein is made up of several untied pieces, but this is fairly rare.
