FINALLY SOMEONE CAN EXPLAIN CLEARLY WHAT THEY ARE ACTUALLY DOING! Such a clear, concise step by step video! Ive been so frustrated with every single other video ive watched on how to do this - watched all of them at least a few times and was pausing playing and then rewinding constantly. I watched this video literally one time and paused after watching what to do for each step AND I GOT IT PERFECT FIRST TIME. Thank you thank you than you

Ok I just made this blanket using this technique and here is my opinion and review. 1. You will never find an easier tutorial. This was the easiest pattern in the world and as long as you don’t forget a loop you are golden. 2. I made my blanket longer in the beginning because I used it to be my length, not width that way I had vertical lines and it was perfect. 3. You can use one color of yarn, but using two not only gives it color and boldness, but makes seeing the loops easier. 4. Absolutely use the yarn she recommended in the description, it was so easy to work with and oh my goodness is it soft. 5. I have never made a blanket before and altogether I made a queen size blanket that took about 3 hours to make. It cost about 50 dollars in yarn to make and in my opinion is a great option. This tutorial is the best out there and is incredibly friendly to beginners

How many loops did you make to start for the size you made? Thanks
@superluigi1225
@superluigi1225 3 жыл бұрын
@@deanne609 I did 40 because I made the original chain my length of the blanket since I wanted the stripes to be vertical rather than horizontal. So to make a queen size blanket I did 40 and keep in mind that it stretches as well so it may end up getting longer.

As everybody else said, this is the best video on this subject. I felt so stupid watching the other ones, but I just needed someone who could clearly explain it! Thanks so much! My boyfriend is blind so finding sentimental things to make for him around the holidays is hard because most of them require visual elements. This one however is perfect! He'll know I did it with my own two hands, and he can put it to use!

I just finished making a blanket the other day for one of my friends that just graduated this year and I used a little over 20 skeins and it’s huge. We laid it out after it was finished and was astounded by the size of the blanket and I gave it to them today and they loved it so much and was so happy that I made it for them. They were impressed when I said it was the first blanket I’ve ever made and since they taught me a bit of crocheting so it was like a thank you gift for them. Thank you for this tutorial and I plan on making more of these but smaller this time 😅 unless it’s for me, I love huge blankets 😌✌

I don’t know how you have it in you. I’ve been crocheting for three days THREE DAYS it might just be because I only do it for 5 minutes a day but STILL how how how HOW this is torture yet really fun. So much money and emotion has gone into this blanket it’s so much cheaper and easier to just buy a blanket but, if you are willing to be emotionally and physically drained by crocheting forever then...it’s amazing and totally worth it. Finally! Your video answers some questions I've had after making a couple of these throws (after watching other tutorials).Wish I had found yours first! I like how you explain which direction the working yarn goes when you get to a new row. A small detail, but will change the look. Also, I love your method of joining a new skein of yarn - simply sewing the ends together. Brilliant! Makes it so much neater. The other methods of 'tucking' the yarn in the back just don't work very well, looked sloppy no matter how much I fussed with it. And finally, your method of 'casting off' - finishing the end - better replicates what happens when you knit with needles. Other videos were different and more complicated. Thanks so much for the tips!

@@sophiadean2849 hi! i recommend chunky yarn. the same that she used in the video! as far as how much to get, it depends on how tight you crochet it. i suggest starting out with about 4-5 balls are chunky yarn and if you need more you can always buy more!

The mainstays yarn is fluffy and it should come all in one (not knotted together) it's cheaper at Wal-Mart, it makes a very soft blanket but it does take up more time to make it than it would with merino wool.

Thank you so much for this. I used a chunky chenille yarn from walmart, and I actually had to make mine twice because I didn't like how it turned out the first time. I ended up wanting my blanket to be a little tighter so my loops weren't as big, and I also used 22 for the chain, 16 was just too small for me. I guess the type of yarn would affect the outcome too though. This is the first blanket I have ever made, thank you so much for such detailed instruction.

If you keep the yarn in a basket below you won't have to keep moving it from side-to-side. Also it would be better to bind off starting on the opposite end and towards the working yarn. This will eliminate having to sew both ends.

I was wondering about binding this off in the other direction so that the last loop could be tied off with the remaining tail of yarn, as when using knitting needles. That way you only have to sew in two ends and it seems like it would be more secure. Have you tried it? I haven’t made one yet but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work. I like to knit tiny things like socks but I found this yarn on sale so I’m going to give it a try.
