Ok I just made this blanket using this technique and here is my opinion and review. 1. You will never find an easier tutorial. This was the easiest pattern in the world and as long as you don’t forget a loop you are golden. 2. I made my blanket longer in the beginning because I used it to be my length, not width that way I had vertical lines and it was perfect. 3. You can use one color of yarn, but using two not only gives it color and boldness, but makes seeing the loops easier. 4. Absolutely use the yarn she recommended in the description, it was so easy to work with and oh my goodness is it soft. 5. I have never made a blanket before and altogether I made a queen size blanket that took about 3 hours to make. It cost about 50 dollars in yarn to make and in my opinion is a great option. This tutorial is the best out there and is incredibly friendly to beginners
@deanne6093 жыл бұрын
How many loops did you make to start for the size you made? Thanks
@superluigi12253 жыл бұрын
@@deanne609 I did 40 because I made the original chain my length of the blanket since I wanted the stripes to be vertical rather than horizontal. So to make a queen size blanket I did 40 and keep in mind that it stretches as well so it may end up getting longer.

We laid it out after it was finished and was astounded by the size of the blanket and I gave it to them today and they loved it so much and was so happy that I made it for them. They were impressed when I said it was the first blanket I’ve ever made and since they taught me a bit of crocheting so it was like a thank you gift for them. Finally! Your video answers some questions I've had after making a couple of these throws (after watching other tutorials).Wish I had found yours first! I like how you explain which direction the working yarn goes when you get to a new row. A small detail, but will change the look. Also, I love your method of joining a new skein of yarn - simply sewing the ends together. Brilliant! Makes it so much neater. The other methods of 'tucking' the yarn in the back just don't work very well, looked sloppy no matter how much I fussed with it. And finally, your method of 'casting off' - finishing the end - better replicates what happens when you knit with needles. Other videos were different and more complicated. Thanks so much for the tips!

So I did it. Used the Walmart yarn and 4 skeins. Pretty decent size throw blanket. It took a couple it hours. So while it was a bit easier and looked better than the arm blanket it took an extremely long time in comparison. The arm blanket too be an hour. This I'd say it took 4 all together. But thanks for the detailed tutorial

Several questions: what size is this blanket? When creating the chain how many loops do you do for a throw size and a full size? How many rows of one color did you do before you changed to the other color? How long does it take to make a throw and a full? Your work is beautiful!!
@calyxpratt98344 жыл бұрын
too precise make it your own size ! it will look beautiful no matter what

Im trying to figure out what she means by skeens
@mirandyrodriguez-brown29123 жыл бұрын
@@Kitkatb4905 Hi there. Skeins are individual balls/pkgs of yarn. Each ball/pkg of yarn is one skein each. So if your pattern calls for 5 skeins, you will buy 5 balls or pkgs of yarn.
@ameliakratzke82012 жыл бұрын
@@mirandyrodriguez-brown2912 she says she uses 6 skeens of a throw in the audio and 8 skeens for a full size but then on the screen it says 6 skeens for a full size. So I was wondering which one is accurate.

Love it but need to know how many loops of yarn in each line. The width of each line? You stated half of your table but not sure how long that is. Thank you!
@elenarusso9874 жыл бұрын
it all depends on how long you want your knots and blanket to be
@terribeeler75094 жыл бұрын
The chain links are generally around 2 - 2 1/2 inches so you can decide how wide you want your blanket to be. It seems most videos say 20-25 links.
@LoreenBuford6 жыл бұрын
If you keep the yarn in a basket below you won't have to keep moving it from side-to-side. Also it would be better to bind off starting on the opposite end and towards the working yarn. This will eliminate having to sew both ends.
@starsoul_76 жыл бұрын
Could you do a video on this please?
@LoreenBuford6 жыл бұрын
@@starsoul_7 Just do it exactly the way she is showing you, except start on the opposite end
@jpf773026 жыл бұрын
I was wondering about binding this off in the other direction so that the last loop could be tied off with the remaining tail of yarn, as when using knitting needles. That way you only have to sew in two ends and it seems like it would be more secure. Have you tried it? I haven’t made one yet but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work. I like to knit tiny things like socks but I found this yarn on sale so I’m going to give it a try.
@LoreenBuford6 жыл бұрын
@@jpf77302 Yes I tried it. I made a blanket and a scarf. It is much better to bind off on the opposite side and it makes better sense.
