@superluigi12252 жыл бұрын
Ok I just made this blanket using this technique and here is my opinion and review. 1. You will never find an easier tutorial. This was the easiest pattern in the world and as long as you don’t forget a loop you are golden. 2. I made my blanket longer in the beginning because I used it to be my length, not width that way I had vertical lines and it was perfect. 3. You can use one color of yarn, but using two not only gives it color and boldness, but makes seeing the loops easier. 4. Absolutely use the yarn she recommended in the description, it was so easy to work with and oh my goodness is it soft. 5. I have never made a blanket before and altogether I made a queen size blanket that took about 3 hours to make. It cost about 50 dollars in yarn to make and in my opinion is a great option. This tutorial is the best out there and is incredibly friendly to beginners
@deanne6092 жыл бұрын
How many loops did you make to start for the size you made? Thanks
@superluigi12252 жыл бұрын
@@deanne609 I did 40 because I made the original chain my length of the blanket since I wanted the stripes to be vertical rather than horizontal. So to make a queen size blanket I did 40 and keep in mind that it stretches as well so it may end up getting longer.

I have watched several tutorials. This is what I have concluded: Some of them are more about: look at me and they are distracting. Some take out their tools and paper and pencil and some of the people are so smug. I have tried to hand kniti 3 times per their instructions, failure. Yours was so easy to follow I guess, because yours is about technique and I feel as if I am sitting by your side as if your are teaching me and I am following along. Success! I can add that it is easier to spot the skipped loops. So that I dont have go back and rip out my work. I guess it is just me. I am more about technique, calmness and tone of voice. Thanks for sharing!

I have watched so many different videos and seen how others make a slip knot. People make them more confusing than they need to be. I watched my mom for years who crocheted with baby yarn or the string thread. I just wrap the yarn around my finger til you cross the thread where the thread crossed hold together and slip your finger out and take one of the ends and slip through the circle pull the loop and there is your slip knot. I hope this helps someone. Maybe I should make a video. Will have to ask my son!

Finally! Your video answers some questions I've had after making a couple of these throws (after watching other tutorials).Wish I had found yours first! I like how you explain which direction the working yarn goes when you get to a new row. A small detail, but will change the look. Also, I love your method of joining a new skein of yarn - simply sewing the ends together. Brilliant! Makes it so much neater. The other methods of 'tucking' the yarn in the back just don't work very well, looked sloppy no matter how much I fussed with it. And finally, your method of 'casting off' - finishing the end - better replicates what happens when you knit with needles. Other videos were different and more complicated. Thanks so much for the tips!

Definitely the best totorial out there! So easy to follow I tried other ones and they were a little challenging to follow. This was so clear and concise and I love how you told us how many rolls of yarns to use! So thank you for making this so easy!

Love it but need to know how many loops of yarn in each line. The width of each line? You stated half of your table but not sure how long that is. Thank you!
@elenarusso9874 жыл бұрын
it all depends on how long you want your knots and blanket to be
@terribeeler75094 жыл бұрын
The chain links are generally around 2 - 2 1/2 inches so you can decide how wide you want your blanket to be. It seems most videos say 20-25 links.

Thank you so much for this. I used a chunky chenille yarn from walmart, and I actually had to make mine twice because I didn't like how it turned out the first time. I ended up wanting my blanket to be a little tighter so my loops weren't as big, and I also used 22 for the chain, 16 was just too small for me. I guess the type of yarn would affect the outcome too though. This is the first blanket I have ever made, thank you so much for such detailed instruction.
