I have an art teacher that would make us do those last couple chaotic techniques. He had us practicing drawing hands with 1-5 minute timers for 40 minutes in sharpie specifically so that we wouldn’t be able to use an eraser, he had us drawing skulls and hands and anything else that is stereotypically (and actually) difficult to draw. He even had everyone tell him what their least favorite thing to draw was and made a list of them, planning to have us draw those very things. I loved it. I learned a lot from him and still have a long way to go.

I discovered your channel about 2 days or 3 days ago randomly and I feel inspired to draw, I have had drawing skills before where if I did put my time into it, it turned out decent but because of my perfectionistic tendencies I completely let go of drawing. In fact, I used to have an expectation from every hobby I was picking up, for drawing I'd tell myself "I need to monetize this so I have to be good at it", which ruined the entire point of having a hobby lol. After watching a few of your videos since past 2/3 days, today I just decided to go ahead and follow a basic tutorial for drawing an anime head, I was able to do decent after all these years, and honestly I feel so happy! Your videos are enjoyable and relaxing and I think it gave me a new perspective about having hobbies completely? You are amazing Viyaura, please continue doing what you are doing!

Oh, my, Goodness, that timer-thing might actually be what i need to actually pick up art, and i mean entirely and not just to find my artstyle. I am having a serious motivation-problem with a variety of different reasons behind it, and one of the things i worry about the most is how my art is perceived by others. Ironically, in wanting to freely express my absurd creativity, putting myself on a timer and forcing myself to stop overthinking might be the solution i was looking for. I just gotta try it out now that i know of it. Regardless of whether that actually works or not, thank you very much for this video, i needed it!

IMO an art style is just the end result of how someone has spent their years learning to draw, how they draw their art and the inspirations they've picked up along the way, as we improve and find new techniques it results in the change of how we draw and how our way of drawing aka art style is shown to others. When ever someone is hooked on 'finding' their style and over thinking about it I just tell them an art style is just how you draw and the techniques you use.
