I think on a club car you can take the speed sensor off and do the same thing with tape. That way you're not pulling the motor 😊

It's a PIA, you have to split the rear-end case. For 6:1 you probably want to make sure you live in flat area because you're gonna loose acceleration and hill climbing. 8:1 is what most people I've heard of do.

Why do you have to multiply by 2? Is it because the actual final ratio is the intermediate shaft to the differential? Or is the hub half the size of a stock wheel?

I held the left axle still and rotated the right axle 6 times to 1 time of the motor shaft. If you spin both axles at the same time it will spin 12 times to the motor shafts 1 time.
