I am riding in the truck with my husband and have been trying to hand knit a chunky blanket leaving loops at the top, my space is limited and moving it from side to side on the bed, I have dropped stitches and it looks tacky. I am not a knitter, i bought 13 skeins of Main Stay Chenille at Walmart and its beautiful teal color, an ivory and soft silver.... not on sale but 35 yards and so soft and cuddly. Since I do know how to crochet, I will start my next s,kein of the fancy teal color in single crochet and remake the entire thing. With little movement knitting it by hand, it can literally come apart with one wrong move! I appreciate your video and I know enough on my own to use all 13 skeins of Chenille yarn to make an awesome blanket/throw that's large enough for me and my husband! Thank you for the inspiration! ~ Wanda T

@lauraallen1405 жыл бұрын
Why?
@Esha_A5 жыл бұрын
Laura Allen Black and other dark color yarns make it a bit difficult to count stitches/chains. For most beginners, this leads to mistakes like: space skipping, unnecessary increases, and uneven edges.

@marooqi4 жыл бұрын
im worried crocheting dulls the mind because this is the 2nd tutorial on this where the creator either doesn't really want other people to learn how they do it or they leave out information that the audience wants to know to get started. They use white yarn with a white rug background with similar texture, they forget how it felt to be learning it for the first time, why make it more challenging than it has to be?

I've been crocheting for a number of years and am just getting into working with this size yarn. Most of my projects are using either a #1 fine or the crochet thread. I suspect this is going to be very bizarre at the beginning. Your explanation was amazing, it's the first one that popped up and frankly I don't think I'll need to look at any more. How easy are these to wash? I've seen the labels on the chunky ones that state hand wash cold-lay flat. I'm wondering how difficult that would be.

I noticed that you didn't flip it for the 2nd row after the first chains . With my regular crochet, I usually flipped after my beginning chains. Maybe this was wring for me to do. But the way you did it looks so much nicer and easier. I just wanted to make sure that i understood ( saw) that correctly. Mine was so uneven and looked a mess when i flipped too soon. Make sense?
