Love the line "Your dreams are on the other side of "The End"...

As a people pleaser, perfectionist, and anxious girly, I felt it pierce my very soul haha when you said, "The most important promises to keep are the ones you make to yourself." Along with all that I'm trying to work through, I'm navigating finding out who I am after becoming a wife and first time mom. It's hard!!! That quote has only confirmed what my goal is which is to take care of myself in order to take care of others (which are my boys who I adore!!). Thank you for motivating me and also for just being so funny and real! :') I NEED TO JUST WRITE THIS DAMN BOOK! Keep being amazing!

Your tips are always so helpful! Love your bright/chaotic energy. Working on my first novel now and your videos always give me a little kick to keep going through the tumult. Congratulations on your first draft, and godspeed with the upcoming process. Much love from Germany!

When I say I needed this! Have yet to complete a first draft. Just keep getting in my head about it. Love the tip about remembering I should love it first before thinking about other readers. I also have different genre ideas that I think are really fun and wonder does it make sense writing them? lolol And I love that saying, “Your dreams are on the other side of the end.” So truee

Perfect timing. I'm starting to write my first draft of my dark academia childhood friends to enemies to lovers-romance this weekend. So there couldn't be any better moment to watch this video

I was reading back my first draft the other day and had to laugh, it was so bad that I'm rewriting it now😂I hope to finish it by next year as a newbie writer still learning...

What’s the difference between a zero and first draft? Also, how finished is your first draft, what’s missing that would be in the final book? So many questions on this 😂
@stephenlogsdon8266Ай бұрын
I’m jealous. Not that you finished it, but that you finished it at only 125,000 words. My fourth, book1 in an epic fantasy, needed itself to be 240,000 words, and for a non-traditional published author, and with the limit to the word count for these kind of books at 130,000, when approaching agents … what an uphill battle it is.

Congratulations on finishing the first draft of your new novel! I can’t wait to see it in the real world one day - dark academia is something I always want to read. I so agree with what you said about just getting on and getting that first draft finished. I like the view that the first draft is just you telling yourself the story. Can’t remember who said that but it really helps me just bluster through and get it all down.

Very good advice! I have to say though, I had a draft I could never finish, and last year, I gave up on it and started a new one, and finished it in four months. It's really bad, and it needs TONS of editing (especially since I mostly pantsed it), but it exists.

The stakes for my story are abit simple. If the villains succeed, the world will be blanketed in darkness. The main cast have lived sheltered lives in their village, with no knowledge of danger & risk losing life and limbs every day.
