This is great! I’m about to redo my kitchen flooring with vinyl tiles and I had someone mention this concept to me regarding the toe kicks but was having a hard time visualizing it- not enough info given. It wasn’t until I saw your video that I finally got the gist of it. I’m going to keep watching because I think you covered vinyl floorings as well. Much obliged!

LOL It’s funny you would say that, because when I got to the job this morning the homeowner had me switch one of the boards so she could have MORE of a variation LOL she thought one of the boards was TOO plain! She wanted more of a light to dark contrast! Lol well I guess it’s true that everyone has their own taste. It’s definitely one of those you love it or hate it wood species! It’s not for everyone one but people who like the look LOVE this particular floor from Naturally Aged Flooring.

I don't like the flooring as toe kicks with this wood. Maybe a different would or material might work. Could be the floor, toe kicks and cabinets look too much the same or too much wood.

To each his own, its not for everyone, but my clients love to tie everything together. Right now wood is in style and its what everyone wants. Which is god for business. I love the look and even do it on white or black cabinets. Unfortunately, hickory isn't for everyone because of the variation, but variation is what woods all about and what I expect in wood. Of course there are woods without as much variation or vinyl and laminates that are really consistent with little to no variation at all. Thanks for watching.

Hey Tim got a question how would i cut the floor if the toe kick is only 2inches high. they do not want an overlay or remove cabinets.
