I love crankbait fishing that's my favorite I'm in south Louisiana and the waters here have lots of bottom grass so you can't really crank bottom contact but I still catch them

I miss catching spots. I grew up fishing the Black Warrior and Tombigbee Rivers. Those are some of the strongest fish I've ever caught and I used to have a blast catching them schooling.

I don't want to correct you Mr Gene, because you are right, most of the time you want a crankbait to make contact with structure on the bottom. I also tend to KILL IT with shallow diving crankbaits under lighted piers when reeling slowly and twiching here and there while having no contact with the bottom at all. Especially in the spring when large schools of minnows/shad/fry flock to bright lights at night. Just wanted to theow that in! Great video!
