Roland, thanks for explaining about Okeechobee. I've lived in Florida basically my whole life and when you look at the lake on a map you sometimes wonder where the fishing spots are. The farthest south I've been freshwater fishing is the farm 13/stick marsh. (oh the memories) well, I also had to try those canals that run parallel the turnpike down in S. Florida.

I saw the 74 bassmaster classic last night and saw you Mr. Martin. Along with Bill Dance and Al Lindler. I remember watching you back in the 90s fishing down on okeechobee. I have learned so much from you over the years and wanted to give a very sincere thank you sir!

Thanks Roland! We were always saltwater oriented. recently my teen got hooked on your channel and it transformed our bass fishing. We each caught one on the first cast, as it hit the water, using your favorite setup!!! Since then, we’ve been cranking em in. Thanks again!

Enjoy Roland's videos. Watched his show growing up. My father and I had the pleasure of fishing a lake in Orlando with him. Great time. We live down in the Fort Myers area. Definitely wish I knew these places he goes to fish haha. So many good places around here.

Roland I used to fish low water in the lake like that years ago when my father would come down from Alabama. We also would just anchor and fish right under the boat after sitting for 15 or 20 minutes. You see the boat itself created shade and in the lake I guess the fish know that too. Especially in low water. High temps has alot to do with that I think. Hey I have an idea maybe you can do a video on that. The most success came with a splitshot live bait combos. Get ready for some break offs! Now after my bypass I can't get out as much. Great video though.

Hey Roland, I was down at Okeechobee in January. What’s up with the low water? We went thru the lock, lock operator said nothing, we get stuck 50 yards outside lock. DNR boat stuck trying to get to lock. WTH? After a lot of work, we get unstuck, and mile off shore we’re still only in ft of water. Wasn’t a happy fisherman. What’s going on with Okeechobee?
