When talkin' about Hootchies, anglers need the "Konami Code" for Salish Sea Chinooks: Oscar-Gulf-One-Five-Eight-Romeo. 100% agree on the Skinny G or Needle G in the "Outfitter" pattern for Straight of Georgia Winter/Spring Chinooks. Though the Kitchen Sink / Trap Shack is a close second.

Best is to check the marine reports on the Environment Canada website. As far as weather is concerned, this would depend on your ability I guess but light winds would probably ideal.
