My brine: Pickling salt (until the water doesnt hold anymore), water, half a minced garlic clove, and for luck a pinch of sugar!

Have you seen the bait heads by trinidad tackle? They have a bar that you can use to insert down the body of the anchovy that helps you control the roll.

i have tried salt on herring and it dried them up and looked wrinkly, I stick to the saltwater brine, powdered milk and liquid bluing Ms Stewart’s.

Do you drain off the brine and leave the cured bait under ice, or do you leave them in the solution all day when you are out?

leave em in the brine , i put the brine and anchovies that i didnt use in a zip lok bag and throw it in the freezer for the next trip .they were still good

Born to Fish BC I get that you're trying to plug this stuff but it's legitimately crazy using all of that. All of the best guides in BC wouldn't be caught dead with that garbage. Salt 3-1 to water ratio, shit a plain anchovy will do the same but not hold up as well.
