Just a short instructional video for beginners on how to fit the bayonet style gas canisters to camping cookers. Not much resource on KZbin explaining this so just putting it out there, I hope it is helpful to those watching,

You sir are my hero. I was in a secondhand store today and found the same burner as shown. There was no price on it, so I smiled friendly to the cassiere and asked for a nice price. Oke, she said, you can have it for 50 eurocent. The gaztanks in Holland are a little less than 3 euro each and available everywhere. Thanks to you I just finished a lovely cup of tea on my 50ct burner.

These canisters have caused MANY accidents in Europe! Gave a similar stove to my elderly father-in-law - for use in an emergency. When the electric went off...several years later he'd forgotten my instructions...so he forced the cartridge onto the screwed in burner unit...and his fingers were frozen by the liquified butane gas which shot out! A timely reminder. Thanks for posting the video!

I used that same type of gas canisters the first time just the other day at Glenfalls camping ground. I had no idea how to fit the canister, i tried this way that way, like you described... then I worked it out! I wish I'd seen this video first haha.

Hi, it is very important to check the rubber seal housing before even attempting to fit a gas cylinder. It must be able to slide back and forth to expose the spike returning to shield it. If stuck, it will require some penetrating oil to start the rubber seal housing sliding again Having satisfied that the seal housing is free to slide, then unscrew the burner housing to fit the cylinder. P S, this also applies to the Globe trotter and the Bleuet tin can stoves. The gas cylinder for the Bleuet tin can stove is smaller than the globe trotter cylinder, both of which are discontinued.

Thank you! Thank you! I don't think these gas canisters are still available, but I had 2 left. If I ever knew about the stove unscrewing to allow easy clamping onto the canister, I completely forgot. I have had a couple of very embarrassing, can-wasting attempts over the years to just push the stove onto the canister and clamp. Anyway, my stove unscrews like yours, and I just attached it to my 2nd-to-last canister per your video. So easy! Thank you!

Thankyou so much for this helpful video!! I acquired this stove a while back and used it successfully car camping but could not figure out how to get the brackets to open so I could change the cannister!! Now, I see that I unscrew a bit first and then the brackets will loosen enough to lift up!! I does look like I need the cannisters with the dimple on top -- not the type that screw or press onto the stove. Thankyou again!!!

Campingaz sells their "Camping Cook CV" double burner stove with a built-in "EasyClic" adaptor/regulator and a short hose for their 450g catridge. However, I cannot find anywhere that might sell a separate "EasyClic" adaptor/regulator which can be used with another stove. Is there such a thing available, and if not, why not???

Can you use a screw on style canister with a puncture style stove? I have a new old stock Globetrotter from ages ago and hate to see it just sitting around unused... I’m in the US and I know you can’t find the puncture canisters here, so I hope I can use the screw on ones because that’s all I can seem to find in stores. Let me know!

@nzlatimer4 жыл бұрын
From all reports these are not readily available in the states, which is strange because Coleman own Camping Gaz that produce these puncture style canisters. I think your best bet would be E bay or hey if you are ever down Mexico way!
