How to fit a DAB car radio.

How to install a Dab car stereo. This model is the Mutant one from Amazon costing £68.00 including the ariel . Most other sets make you pay £30.00 just for the ariel. There is a link to buy this set on the video , I highly recommend this Dab car stereo , as it also plays normal FM radio , SD cards , USB sticks and CD`S . Sound quality is excellent also.

I have a Renault Megane and it has radio volume controls and pausing on the right side steering stalk. Is it just a matter of what the video showed.... and all this stuff will work as well?

I've got this unit. I also have an aerial amplifier/adapter (as my Skoda had an aerial amplifier built into the original radio). This amplifier comes with a blue wire which needs to be plugged into a 12v ignition power source or, preferably, into the remote/amp power feed in the back of the radio. I've done some research online and it looks like other radios have a little wire out of the back for you to connect it to. This isn't the case with the Mutant, from what I can tell. Do you have any suggestions? Will I need to modify the wiring harness?

Hi Lawrence , I would use the remote power feed from the set for your aerial amplifier if there is one , you can always check be using a multimeter to check for 12 volts on one of the wires when turned on , other wise you will have to plug it into a 12 volt power source that switches on when you start the ignition such as the cigar lighter . Where did you get your FM aerial adapter from? I've just installed the same stereo in my Ford Focus but the adapter I got with my fascia kit doesn't quite connect correctly with the aerial.

cheers this is just what I was looking for, I cant live without BBC 6 Music so a DAB is a must have. How difficult was it to set the aerial up on the roof?

Hi there I am in the process of fitting a pioneer dab radio into a clio 2011 that didn’t have a dab setup, I’ve connected all cables and bought a Ariel adapter (small) and managed to get dab stations, as I was finding my favourite stations it stopped working and now I can’t find any reason why? Do you know if I may need a special dab antenna?
