Took the plunge and had one of these delivered Thursday, a bit slow but never stopped or skipped a beat unlike the Honda 536 mulcher, long grass, sleet, heavy rain the lot just kept going….. only thing I didn’t like was the stiffness of the handles but told they will slacken off in time, speed up kit on order 👍

Hope it does you well, the drive handle on my latest ones did seem stiffer too. Hopefully it'll dry up and you won't need to be in those weather conditions for much longer👍 cheers

Hi mate have you managed to make the blade cut lower than the spec by putting a spacer under the blade as some of my customers want the lawn shorter than the 28 mm that it cuts on the lowest setting , cheers

Hi, you must be on some well kept lawns, I've never dropped the mowers lower than the 2nd notch as most of ours have a good lot of moss in them😅 I'm guessing a spacer could work, the shear washer usually loses its notches on mine and I don't replace them so and extra washer could be ok. They do cut lower after a few years and the wheels wear thin😬

Hi it's the PHTS3 I believe and still available hopefully as I'll renew mine once 5 years old🤞they collect great in the wet and can handle staff who are less tha careful while using them, that one reason I use them. Cheers 👍

Got my etesia after! Got the kit on too but had to slightly up the revs myself too. Do you go through many belts? Thinking of getting a spare belt or two on standby knowing my luck they wont last long ha ha. Do you get them from ground essentials? Loving all that new kit btw.

Yeah it's been great I also bought a little stihl mower 448vc around speed, great for small gardens and powerful enough, it's good on sodden ground as abit lighter.

Yea, they set them at plod speed unfortunately. I've had the variable speed one in years past with the blade break only to see employees turn the on their side while running on the odd occasion the deck clogged up🙄😬hence the single speed ones now 😅👍

Im thinking of getting one or the kawasaki model but weighs 50kg apparently not sure why its so much heavier so probably go with what you have! Any advice on models? Also im based in s.wales so guessing you use the dealership in Treforest?

Hi, mine are 2020 models and I fitted the speed up kit from new, original speed perfect for long wet grass but not fast enough for me on dry summer cuts, will probably use for this season before replacing, I've only ever had them with the honda on so could offer much help sorry on the saki one, expect it would be great but the extra weight in wet old Wales may not be wanted. I'm closer to Young's but fp&g in treforest also look after you👍 where abouts are you based? Cheers 👍

@LewisgardenservicesLtd I'm in the valleys but cover bridgend areas including Porthcawl! Yeah I'm not sure why the kawasaki is so heavy, so maybe a different deck or gesture box heavier not sure! The duocut model looks OK with a slightly larger box but think thet aren't making those anymore! I will probably go with what you have I use the weibang 50svp but it gets messy after a while in the wet mainly to do with having g a bag and not a plastic box! The other option would ne the stihls 545 and 650 4 wheeled models bit not sure how good in the wet they are in comparison obviously cheaper but I will probably use the weibang for dry days if we get any lol the the other mower be it a etesia or stihl for wet days but ideally don't want to be using something that heavy as I cut about 15 lawns Mon to Thurs I won't have a back left otherwise lol.

I got the same impression or they would have said yeah we will order it in do it and pick it up which makes more sense. I will ask forest Park if they won't do it will try doing it myself, id be cheeky and ask you or pay you to do it but you aren't down the road as such and it can't be that hard lol. I'm used to using hondas and weibangs so it will just be too slow as it is lol.

I'm surprised you get on well with what is essentially a domestic mower. Only got the GCV engine and no BBC. I love my Honda HRH's fantastic quality machines. You'll probably find the rpms on the gcv are below spec as well if you tacho it.

I used honda mowers before these and still have a few, the 21" HRH pro hydrostatic is great, it sits in the shed as can't pick up wet grass which we're often on and sinks due to its weight. The guys can just crack on with the etesia. I'd have to disagree with them being a domestic mower tho. Everyone has their favourite tho right? Cheers 👍

@@LewisgardenservicesLtd my HRH's bag fine in the wet but it's down to maintenance. Keeping the blade sharp and bending the wings further, the grass bag clean and the rpms up. Totally agree with you on the weight tho🤣 I wouldn't consider a mower professional if it's fitted with a GCV engine, they're weak and gutless compared to the GXV. What ever works for you👍😉

@@bumpkinrocks yea I tried that for the HRH, used to jetwash bag and deck all the time, unclipped side of bag to increase airflow, tried different blades etc. I could make it work, as soon as tone drop or bag cover dips I'd be on it and empty bag. Give it to some employees tho and all I'd see was them running a clogged mower. The etesia makes mowing simple and that's why I get on with them. I do all the running around while someone mows so I don't want to do their job as well. Engines last fine from my experience, I've often thought about putting an hour meter on mowers, any mower just to see how much they do. You're right tho, whatever works.👍👍
