We have one on replacing the Turbo Actuator and discuss the boost suggestions :) probably will be up in a few weeks, not edited yet and as you would imagine, what goes up, was done a few weeks before (if that makes sense :)

@@DrivenMadShow @DrivenMadShow thanks SO much, love your channel. I was referring to your comment above mine from two years ago, you said "we have one video on replacing the turbo actuator, and discuss boost options. Will be up in a few weeks" For clarity - I don't need to know about the 4x4 actuator, but I would LOVE to hear about the TURBO actuator. (Because I was having the overboost-then-limp-mode problem, so any info on the turbo actuator settings aka "bolt position" or solenoid/vacuum pipe stuff)

@@bearnecessiteespolio5359 too kind ! :) - we are slow, but we are about to tackle it - Murdock (as we call our truck) is so tough, we don't mess with him, everything else we own has fallen to bits, blown up or died over the last 18 months or so, Murdock is our daily weapon ! not being able to work on him, probably has been for the best, we kill everything we touch 😂

Hi have you fixed the overboost problem and if you have what did you do?
@DrivenMadShow Жыл бұрын
We replaced the turbo actuator which cured our issue - that said, it is now overboosting again, so we are ordering a turbo boost solenoid - so that will be done in a few weeks time 🤞🏼

i liked your stiring wheel from where did you buy it? pls answer
@DrivenMadShow3 жыл бұрын
Hello - its the stock steering wheel, Nath fitted a bespoke cover - got ours from phatbitsuk.co.uk - just looked them up to get you the link and for some reason their web page and facebook are down - hope they have not gone bust, as the cover is excellent and really good quality - they had a site builder to choose colours & materials etc - you send a photo of your wheel, so an exact fit (it comes part stitched and you finish off).
@home2roots2 жыл бұрын
Curiouse - where did u get that steeringwheel after fit? :) Looks great!

Hello - its a self fit cover ( here we did on our Fiat Panda - kzbin.info/www/bejne/a5e2d318itN2jdE ) we got it from phatmods.com, but since we did it, they have been bought out (or went bust) and are not quite as flexible or have the range - the Panda they could not do, so got that from a Fiat specialist.

I have the same model pick-up , as u said it's a very simple car , but I have an awkward problem ; the engine is shaking as its in ideal rpm , I don't know what the problem might be.
@DrivenMadShow3 жыл бұрын
You will need to get it professionally checked, there are so many things it could be - assuming this is stationary - fuel issue (too much / too little) - sensor failure (unfortunately there are a few) - engine mounts (unlikely) Its a tricky one Khangar, but stop off at a local mechanic and show, they will tip you off to the issue regardless, this will help if you want to fix yourself.
@khangarkarrar78003 жыл бұрын
@@DrivenMadShow me too assumed it's a fuel issue , thanks , I will get it to fuel check.

What boost should it be running?
@DrivenMadShow2 жыл бұрын
Factory spec is 0.9 bar, which is around 12 /13psi approx at load, over that (unless you mod it) you will find you lose power - I only know this as Nath tried to up the boost pressure and made it go slower (I know that is hard 😂)
@seanharris32172 жыл бұрын
@@DrivenMadShow ah as I fitted a boost gauge and mine runs at 15psi and I thought really this is we’ll slow for that boost
@DrivenMadShow2 жыл бұрын
@@seanharris3217 you will need to tinker and set the actuator - our boost gauge flaps about a lot, so not the finest bit of kit to get an exact reading - think we will upgrade it, but difficult to judge which is better or someone is just charging more for the same crap :(

nice tutorial,i have an early k74(pre face lift) and want to install one in mine,where did you get boost gauge from mate?
@DrivenMadShow3 жыл бұрын
As always, the cheapest I could find on ebay - there are loads from 15 - over 50 pounds, mine is the 15.00 one from China, there are different faces and colours, but basically they all look the same to me - I went for a blue one, for no reason at all :) just search turbo boost gauge and there are pages of them, all the same, I just chose the best feedback seller.

Sorry for the delay - been waiting for Nath to return in his truck so I could have a look :) - its a 3mm "inside" diameter tube - he just got it from our local store - depends where you run it, if near heat, get silicon :)

what size of gauge are u using?

We used an ebay el chepo - 52mm (you can select the vehicle on ebay to check) I would say it's hard to read as the info is very small and when unlit not easy - some are LED readouts, might swap to that somewhen so I can see easier -.

did you ever find out why it was over boosting i have that issue my self
@DrivenMadShow2 жыл бұрын
Hi George - our turbo actuator was playing up, and set incorrectly - think previous owner expected more pressure = more power (as I would have to be fair 🤣 ) and that's not the case - the new one was not expensive, but really ours only needed a reset and good clean ! - cannot say its 100% perfect, but much better than before. The gauge not the finest quality, so readings also hard to judge, but better than nothing :) Cheers J&N

@@DrivenMadShow thanks for your response i will check my actuator tomorrow i only got a cheap gauge because i had no power was boosting 5psi then i changed a few vacuums blanked the egr off changed the intercooler and it was fine running 15psi for a month and now overboost and loss of power clutch slip if it reaches 25psi starting to scratch my head abit many thanks
@DrivenMadShow2 жыл бұрын
Thats sounds way too high - but we are for sure not experts - if all the lines are OK - then another check could be the intercooler - too much air can be a cause - maybe undo each thing you did test, and see what happens - then re do as needed - setting are really hard to find for the actuator so found this - not your car but the process on this might help ..... kzbin.info/www/bejne/h6K4imSppLOAick

We run 12/13 - the car was hitting 15+ and loosing all power, so new regulator fitted - it was a weird fault as only happened on full throttle and then you would feel it die - the gauge showed us it was over boost - stupidly we also thought that would increase power, not reduce it :)

Great vid mate. Really enjoying all the L200 vids tbh. I have an 05 MK Triton 2.8l diesel and find your vids very informative and well made. Any chance you could provide a link to the boost gauge? Hi Danny - ours was an ebay special - basically there are shed loads on there - plenty identical at various prices. Ours is a bit shit to be honest - so we will be changing it some when - I think a digital read out would be way better as ours flaps about all over the place - it is difficult to judge on ebay and high cost does not always mean better me thinks 🤣 have a look on Aliexpresss, way cheaper - think I paid 8 quid for mine, they are now 40 ish on ebay, still 8 on Aliexpress and some better looking ones pt.aliexpress.com/wholesale?catId=0&initiative_id=AS_20220311054927&SearchText=turbo+boost+gauge Cheers J&N
