Hi Sean Just wanted to say thanks for this series of videos. In the last week I've fitted a tail tidy, heated grips, and front and rear fender extensions. None of it is super rocked sciencey, but you've definitely saved me a lot of frustration. Much appreciated! Paul

It’s the screws they won’t move 😡any advice thank you
@BMCMOTOUK
@BMCMOTOUK Жыл бұрын
All I can advise is don't be afraid to whack the impact driver but also make sure the driver bit fits the screw so you don't chew it up. If it still won't budge, try and heat the screw with a small blowtorch and concentrate the heat on the screw to try and soften up the threadlock, this may help

I don’t I’m afraid but there is little clips that you need to push in I believe to get the inner weights out.

@@BMCMOTOUK Couldn't find the impact driver earlier, but my old man will know where "He's" hidden them! 🤣👍 The left side is tight tight like you said, but still twirls, so wondering are they supposed to turn despite being very tight? 🤔
@BMCMOTOUK
@BMCMOTOUK 2 жыл бұрын
@@johndiehardmclean23 they aren't supposed to turn as there should be wee clips/ lugs to hold the inner barends in. A short sharp shock with an impact driver should break the tension on the screw. If you can't find your impactor just give me a shout bud 👍

@@BMCMOTOUK the bar ends will turn in thier rubber mounts, but not pull out due to the way the fixing ring locates in side the bar, the bar ends fit into a netal wieght that supported in rubber mounts to reduce vibration and works well,

Thanks Piotr, I'm pleased my method worked well for you. I've seen a few videos where the screws were all chewed up by people doing it wrong. By taking my time and shocking the screws it means I can quickly put the original bar end weights back on if I have to. Cheers, Sean

Thanks for watching and commenting buddy. In all honesty? No, not initially. However, what little vibrations my bike had when brand new were ironed out after about 4000 miles when I took the bike on my Euro tour and I added a further 3500 miles to the clock. On my tour I spend many hours on the autobahn and I think it was this constant speed for hours at a time is what smoothed the bike out. The bike is about to hit 10,000 miles now and is buttery smooth with no vibrations on the foot pegs or handlebars

@BMCMOTOUK
@BMCMOTOUK 11 ай бұрын
Hi, if your fitting bar end mirrors you will have to take the internal weights out so you'll need a different type of bar end weight as these weights just replace the oem ones

Is it the screws your trying to remove? These should shock out with a swift hit of the hammer on the screw head. If it's the actual bar end weight your trying to remove then there's little clips you need to push in to release them

Hi Sean, How are these bar ends doing regarding vibrations? I am looking to buy these to reduce the vibrations as I pressume they are little heavier then stock ones, but have been reading comments that actually vibrations with these get worse then before? Your reply would be much appreciated! Many thanks
@BMCMOTOUK
@BMCMOTOUK Жыл бұрын
Hi buddy, I get practically no vibrations from my bars and footpegs. I did however still get some vibes up to about 4000 miles but with the tour of Europe and an additional couple of thousand miles the bike is buttery smooth with no vibrations at all. In all honesty the bar end weights may have improved the initial vibes when I first fitted them but it could have just been a placebo effect? But this bike just gets better and better when you clock the miles up. I'm touching 8500 miles now and the bike is an absolute delight to ride.

@@BMCMOTOUK Thanks a lot! I am coming down from CB 1100 retro which is the best bike I ever had I love it so much, I have it for 10 years, but want something smaller now, being 50 now and I ride mostly in town. Is CB 650 comfortable enough, I've sat on one and was a little worried with that low and forward handlebar position?
@BMCMOTOUK
@BMCMOTOUK Жыл бұрын
@KK-hm5bd I'm 2 years behind you and 5'6 tall (I'm convinced I'm shrinking) and the bike is very comfortable for me. This bike is absolutely perfect for city riding as it thread's like a needle through traffic. Have a test ride uf you haven't already and I'm sure you'll love it. Plenty of power when needed and gentle at lower city speeds too

Did these make much of a difference to the 6-7k rpm buzz?
@BMCMOTOUK
@BMCMOTOUK Жыл бұрын
I can't say for sure as I've absolutely no buzz from my bike at all. My buzzing disappeared after about 4000 miles. I added a further 3500 miles on my Euro trip in May and the mileage on the bike is just over 9600 miles now and it's buttery smooth throughout the rev range

@@BMCMOTOUK Thanks. May I ask what prompted you to fit them?
@BMCMOTOUK
@BMCMOTOUK Жыл бұрын
Sure buddy, I fitted them for a few reasons 1) they look better than the stock bar end weights, 2) for to eliminate any buzzing, which they didn't initially do until the engine was fully bedded in and 3) they look great and I guess add a little bit of protection should the bike tip over and they are fairly cheap to replace

@@BMCMOTOUK Recap: So sometimes shere anger and frustration can pay off if directed at the right target. I got fed up, struck the driver end at full force and the screw finally came loose haha How much heavier are the R&G weights than the stock ones? Over 8k rpm I am having some strong vibrations I wonder if they gonna help at all.

Glad you got the screws out. Sometimes walking away then going back later seems to work lol. Re the weight difference, I honestly don't know but in all honesty I can't say I noticed much difference. My bike never really vibrated, if anything it was very minimal on the foot pegs and after 4000 miles it was completely smooth but I think that was down to my European trip where I spent hours on the autobahn. The bike now has 11,500 miles on the clock and performs beautifully and is currently my daily commuter bike. It does need new tyres now as the Dunlop Sportsmax's are almost done so they will be replaced with Michelin road 6's in a couple of weeks

@@BMCMOTOUK Glad you having a blast with your CB mate. I don't have much luck with mine sadly. I am getting strong vibration in the handlebar over 8k (I like my baby fast and roaring) the vibrations are numbing my hands and shaking my mirrors and I also have the MIL popping up randomly with a p0300 dtc code. We picked her apart, checked for loose connections, fuel lines, air intake, spark plugs no isses but the problem persists. I think next I will have to block the PAIR valve and flash the ECU and hope for the best because it's annoying as hell. Thanks for the replies, god bless ya!

That's sad to hear that it's a bit vibey mate, I'm guessing you've done alot of upgrades to it. My bike is more or less stock plus I have a GSX 1250FA so running 2 bikes is not cheap, especially the GSX as that likes to visit the petrol station on every outing but its as fast as fuck compared to my CB650R. The CB650R is now more or less my commute bike as it's very nimble and threads through busy city traffic with ease. I rode 3500 miles in 12 days with it last year and took it to Italy. The bike was fully loaded and managed that trip without a single problem. I have a playlist on the channel featuring that tour. Hope you get to the bottom of your vibrations as the CB650R is an awesome machine and I'll be holding onto this bike for a while yet as it's a great all-rounder
