Brilliant video. I had changed the gaskets a year ago but ended up breaking my leg and shattered knee cap so couldn't remember which way the governor springs went back on, I should have taken a photo when I disassembled it but didn't honestly think I was going to take over a year to finish the job!!! Thank you.

Thanks for the video. The information is helpful. I am trying to see the placement of the governor spring on a Generac GTV-760 (050582) engine that is on a Dixie Chopper zero turn mower. The spring came lose, and I'm unsure where it goes. Thanks.

I am replacing the governor springs on an old B&S 3.5 hp push mower and I am baffled that there is no tab on the bracket for the smaller spring! Are there other styles of brackets on these engines? It looks otherwise identical to the engine in this video!

@@MowerMan many thanks does that not strain the metal on the coiled parts though so they don't loop properly anymore? Your videos have been an amazing help, my 15yo+ champion/Briggs and Stratton Classic 35 should purr after all the maintenance. Any suggestions on grease please or just a standard lithium multi purpose will do for the various bits?

Instead of "this" and "that" and "here" and "there", the actual name of the object would be helpful... eg instead 'there", you could say "governor arm"
