My son has the same product but getting the seat on and off the base is a nightmare, has to be forced with 2 hands but on the video it is done easily with one hand ! Are you pressing a lever on the side i cant see ? as when i just lift the handle at the rear the seat still wont lift off.

It is just the one lever on the back, if it is really stiff you could try lubrication alternatively refer back to the retailer that you purchased from
