Very useful. The size guide is a bit on the small side particularly for Salomon boots. My feet measure 28 cms but need an 11.5 UK.

I wish boot manufacturers would cater for the civilian market like they do for the military with small, medium and large width sizes, would make it so much easier to get the perfect fit.
@trekitt10 ай бұрын
There are a number of options out there in the consumer market with different width fitting options, our best advice would be to head to your local specialist outdoor retailer and going through a boot fitting, they should be able to help you find the right boot for your needs.

hi, nice video. My foot is 27cm long and 10.5 wide. Would it be wide or normal foot on your profesinal tool? What size should I take la sportiva tx5?
@trekittАй бұрын
Hi, we already answered this comment on the La Sportiva TX5 video for you, but we'll go into a bit more depth here for you. You'd be right around an EU42.5/EU43 in the TX5. Your foot does appear to be on the slightly wider side, but if that width sits closer to your toes the TX5 should still work, but if it sits further back towards your mid-foot they may not be suitable. We also have to factor in volume (the depth of your foot), the TX5 boots are not particularly high volume, so if you have quite deep feet then they may also not be suitable. Without seeing the overall shape of your foot, toe profile etc it is still far from a perfect method to determine fit, we would always recommend trying on in-store or booking in for a boot fitting with a local footwear specialist who will be able to guide you better to the ideal fit, remember to bring your boot socks with you! You may have a personal preference for a slightly tighter or roomier fit, but with the TX5 we find it does tend to fit a little conservatively, so if you were to order online we would go with the EU43 (UK 9).

Hi, a query regarding correct shoe/boot size. I had my feet measured using the Brannock device , allegedly I'm a UK10. I found this odd as all of my footwear is a size 9, I bought some Meindl Bhutan GTXs in a 9 as my feet were lost in a size 10 and moved in all directions and the heel literally fell out of the boot. The 9s fit perfect with no slippage nor any toe stubbing and when the boots are on and I press my big toe upwards I can see where its sitting in the boot leaving a full thumb width of room. Could my Meindls be an odd size or is the Brannock wrong in some way?
@trekitt2 жыл бұрын
It could have been that the majority of your weight was on your one foot, leading it to read larger, or that the boot and brannock just didn't line up. Footwear is a funny one as there's not one standardised length that relates to a size 9, for example. This is why it's so important to try stuff on! Harry

Hi all very informative videos,thanks,but when im out walking the soles of my feet seem to go numb after about 7k? But very comfortable apart from that?? (Brasher hill master) thanks
@trekitt4 жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for your comments and for watching. Without seeing your feet and your boots, my first thoughts are that the boots may be too flexible around the foots natural "flex point" causing too much stress on the ball of your foot. It would be worth considering a more supportive boot in future, or ideally, come to our Hereford Service Centre for a Pro boot fit! Paul.

It sucks having wide feet. Trying to find boots that are wide enough, but not too long is such a pain for me. That's with the typical wide sizes manufacturers sell.

I am US 8,5 brannock. UK 8, european 42. For NIKES UK 9. What size do I need for these?
@trekitt4 жыл бұрын
For the AKU Pilgrim's we generally recommend opting for your usual size, so if you're usually a UK 8, start there. If you're not able to visit us in person, I'd recommend ordering a few sizes and sending back the pair(s) that don't fit.

@trekitt4 жыл бұрын
@@achillesdanieladam9486 It's hard to give a definitive answer as everyone's feet are different, but from my personal experience, I fit both the Pilgrim and Bhutan in a UK 10.5 which is my usual size.

That’s all well and good but in my experience there is always a trade off. I have never found a boot that fits that well especially now I am older. You end up giving up on boots altogether. Trainers all the way now. Not perfect but they generally easier overall.
@trekitt4 жыл бұрын
Hi Graham. Trainers are certainly comfy but not always suitable for more rugged terrain. You should make an appointment at our Service Centre for a boot fit and I’m sure we’ll be able to get you a comfy and safe pair of boots. Paul.

So what if your big toe is not the longest but the second is (eg a Greek toe)? It seems that 10% of all people have that.

Hi Pieter, Very true, in this case you would measure to the tip of your longest toe. We will be re shooting this video very soon and will make sure we include information such as this. All the best, Will
