In this video we will show you our technique to fix a broken ceiling fan blade arm. Our technique will make the repaired arm stronger than the original. With so many varieties of custom ceiling fans, buying a new replacement blade arm is close to impossible.

Good fix. Never thought of that. I tend to use aluminum brazing rods and a mapp gas torch. 800 degrees, take the flame away and apply a bead with the aluminum brazing rod then let it cool down slowly. Pretty good strength.

If you are going to weld one blade arm to be stronger than original it’s best to do all blade arms. Because if you do only one, then others sag, fan can get out of balance.

I have a hunter ceiling fan light with a broken fan blade arm. The arm is not accessible like the one. In this video. There is a light above the fan blades and the light below. I can take the globe off the bottom but there is a plate still covering the fan blade screws and I don't know how to get to it... Can this be explained please?

The nails only added surface area. If they would be physically tied down to each of the 2 parts, then is will be a more secure connection. Drill holes and use thread or tiny tie wire to hold down the nails. Then JB weld.

I just tried this today with a Harbor Breeze fan blade arm. Going to let it sit for 24hrs and then try it out so fingers crossed! I thinking I might also need to deal with an unbalance situation but hope not.

@@adamsmith577 It worked for a while, like maybe a few weeks but then I think the constant centrifugal force of the spinning caused it to come apart. Plus I had a lot of trouble balancing it out by taping nickels to it. I ended up buying a replacement set of blades and had to drill different holes in them to match up to the arms of the fan.
