Of course.. Well, that's a bit tricky I guess. I only know of this one way to get to it. It may be available on the net somewhere, but I wouldn't know where. Another option would be to ask someone who do have a legit copy to try and fix the project, and then send it back. :) Or just buy a legit copy ;)

My situation is different because when I put my corrupted file in the diagnostics tool, there is no second option to remove plugins and the first one does nothing. When I open the FLP, there's no plugins that appear to load in the top left. It's like my project has been wiped clean and this only happened a few days ago.

S tip for people using this method that worked for me: try to open the corrupted project and then watch the field in the top-left corner of FL Studio that tells you the name of whatever sample or VST that FL Studio is loading/opening. The last name (sample or VST) that shows up before you get the "Corrupt" error message is most likely the VST or sample that's causing the issue, and that you should try removing first via the process shown in the video. PS: THANK YOU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This helped me open one of my favorite projects that had been corrupted now for over a year! =']

Note that you need to be logged into your image-line account in order to download the repair tool from their servers. :) Alternatively FL are saving backup versions of your work with regular intervals, and you can usually find it here: c:\Program Files (x86)\Image-Line\FL Studio\Data\Backup.

This method only works in arround 50% of the cases, which is when a plugin crashes when saving the project. If other parts of the project becomes corrupt then it won't work unfortunately :\ Check your backup folder, and try to open the last saved version.

OMG FireWalk, yet another valuable tip I did not know you could use! Fantastic. I so wish I'd know about this a long long time ago. I've lost count of how many times this has happened. Fortunately I save a lot and frequently, and certainly save presets, states and do complete file backups of everything needed for a project. Incidentally, if you haven't done this, I'd love to see how you organize your project files if you're creating a video on this. In the past I was forever losing key sample files of recording's I'd done. This was especially problematic when changing out motherboards, or boot drives etc and suddenly finding a whole raft of material was missing - hence having to rebuild the old machine and recover the hard drive (hopefully there being a viable backup to do this). Major pain! :) I ended up setting up a complex system to try to avoid this. One tactic is I use multiple "Edison" instances to capture the dry/raw input, then for example with a guitar, post an amp simulation, then on to the final version with effects. The idea being you can go back to the dry signal if changing the amp and effects was needed, or just to blend in other effects etc. The main issue with this though is if you keep all these in Edison, it can take up a lot of storage space. I've currently got over 5 TB of data which is growing, LOL. So I'd also be interested in your recording strategies - do you use Edison, and/or multiple instances? Anyway, much appreciated, knowing how to potentially "resurrect" projects as you've demonstrated is really valuable. Thank you!

Thanks! Glad to hear you found it of use! :) I know what you mean, it can become quite a mess over the years. Organizing is key. I have a video about how to organize samples and sample packs etc, but I'm sure you've already done that. When it comes to my project files I'm not very good at organizing as I go. I tend to work fast, and it eventually always becomes a mess. I then end up spending time when I'm just about done in order to categorize and organize everything, mostly so that I will be able to make sense of it all at a later time if coming back to the project. I almost always export my project bones and such, and save them so that I can easily access them from my browser. I often find myself thinking: that snare I used in that other track would fit nicely in here, or that ride from another track would be just right for this.. By saving the elements and have them easily accessible, i can quickly get to any sample from any project I've done. It's important not to loose momentum by having to spend way to much time trying to find stuff. When it comes to recording I actually prefer Cubase to be honest. FL Studio is great for a lot of things, but unfortunately it's not so great in other areas. FL Studio has never been really great at live recording and recording in general. It can be done of course, but it leaves a lot to be desired when you know how easy and effortless this is in other daws such as Cubase.. :)

It doesn't always work unfortunately. Just when there's a plugin that causes the corruption. If the project crashed while saving then the backup folder is your only hope.

Not all projects can be fixed. This method only works if a plugin crashes when saving or loading the project. Even so, note that it usually won't autodetect which one is acting up, so it will usually require you to manually disable them one by one until you figure out which one is causing the issue. If you can't recover the project at all, then check your backup folder. It should autosave every 5 minutes or so. You might be able to recover an earlier working version of the project from there.

If the diagnostic tool doesn't work for you try loading up a demo project file that comes with fl studio before you open the corrupted one. They should be in \Image-Line\FL Studio 12\Data\Project. That worked for me

The diagnostic tool can usually fix projects that won't open because a plugin crashed during saving, or which is crashing when opening the project. If the project itself is somehow corrupted then this won't work :\

Thank you for posting this brother, you saved my hide in the past... Unfortunately I've been experiencing issue with this error message after a few weeks of "Could not save ____.flp" when I try to save this one particular file on my legal copy of FL20. My workaround has been sort of ignoring the problem by saving as new version. But after 20+ hours of work on this particular project, I've been unable to open the backup following these instructions exactly. I've scoured both Reddit & ImageLine forums for a way to recover this song, and although similar advice is given, nothing that has led to recovery of the project. ---- When I try to open the file, whether as admin or not, whether 32bit v. 64bit daw, the file tries to open until it hits "Opening: Fruity Delay 3", at which point my Windows 10 PC eventually gives me the "Program is not responding". --- I've went into my C drive and temporarily changed the plugin's location to see if this would work (Including a refreshed plugin scan through "Manage Plugins" window. --- Has anybody encountered an issue similar to this here?

In the past when similar things has happened to me, I've some times had success by physically removing the plugin itself so that it can't be loaded. Cut and paste the delay3 dlll file to somewhere else temporarily, and see if you can open the project then. When it can't find the plugin, it will just skip it.

Make sure you're using the newest version. Completely remove all old instances of the plugin and then reinstall the newest one. If it's a pirated plugin then that might be the reason why it's crashing

You don’t really need to do all this. If your project crashes it’s most likely because your automation clips. Make sure your automations start from the beginning of the project. If you have an automation clip that kicks in at the middle of the project just drag it to the left so the project has time to process it.

i tried to install the software and got the unable to save message. however i managed to get it working after reading both of the text files.All these steps may not be necessary but its what i did to get it to work. uninstall FL Studio 201A. delete all leftover files (Library\Preferences\Image-line & \Users\User\Documents\Image-line) Turn off Wifi install ALL plugins in the plugin folders install FL Studio 20 for Mac run keygen and create the reg file Open FL studio 20 and go to help > about even if its unnecessary i put a fake email and password and checked accept EULA Then i clicked register from file and choose the recently created reg file (placed on desktop) Hope this helps someone. ( it worked for me )

How come everytime I use the Piano Roll Chopper on Fl Studios, When I close the program and try to restart it, It says Fl Studio Launcher has stopped working? There must be something wrong with the registration. I don't work for Image-Line so you'll have to contact them and explain the situation there. You should be able to log into your image-line account and download the registry key from that page. Then you simply have to double click on it, and it will be registered

I don't know actually. MAC support was just recently introduced with FL20. You'll have to contact Image-Line and ask them if they have also ported the diagnostic tool to work for the mac version.

so I don't have the same question presented in the video.i wanted to see if I could get some help. So whenever I export my files in either wav or mp3 it goes through the exporting process as usual but when I check my files I can't find it anywhere but quick access and when I click on it its size is displayed as 0 bytes and is unplayable. I'm using the usual settings that I was before the problem occurred.i tried exporting different projects that were exporting fine before and I encountered the same problem. nothing I've done so far has helped .I've tried to disable asio4all disable multithread processing and a few other methods to no avail.

Does the same thing happen with both mp3 and wav? Have you made sure you don't have a tiny area of the playlist marked?

FireWalk the very beginning of the playlist has the cursor over it. I'm just confused as to why this happened so suddenly . it began two days ago and I recently finished a couple of projects.the project I first started having trouble with , isn't utilizing any 3rd party vst plugins either. I am using a couple of parametric EQs and Reeverb 2s in about 3-4 tracks in the mixer and a limiter that was already there on the master

If you try to mark the entire project from beginning to end, so that it's all marked red, and then export. Does the same thing happen then ?

FireWalk yeah I marked the whole project but it doesn't export anything but a corrupt wav file

Whenever I try using the DT tool it seems to fail / crash around the ASIO test....any ideas?

Then this won't work. I recommend always saving all samples etc along with the project by creating a folder for it first thing when making a new project.

I only get this same error when I try to export my project into any file: WAV, Mp3 whatsoever. What can I do about this? Anyone advice please?

I downloaded the diagnotic tool but, when I select the project and click the button to pull up all the individual plugins no plugins show up at all. Usually my projects are disgustingly gargantuan & cluttered with countless plugins and effects. The only 3rd party plugins I have though are Massive and sylenth. Any Idea as to what is keeping the plugins from showing up? Is it the size??

That's strange. It should display native plugins as well!

It doesnt show any plugins. also ive tried to remove the plugins manually and that hasnt seemed to work as well

When i click select it says "Bits index out of range" or "stream white error". Very frustrating. It will take a long time to create what i once had. Any solutions to these errors?

Once I save a project or save and export a MP3 or wave file where’s the best place to put it on the C Drive . or you’re D drive... i’m working with windows 10 pro and I’m having trouble saving on my do you drive once I export find my file there but it keeps on searching for the fileDo you have the same problem where is my computer defective

I have a dedicated drive for samples, another for synths and such, and another for my projects, and then yet another for rendered projects. But I have a huge libary. I always recommend not saving to your C drive, as it will quickly fill up, and windows need a certain amount of space in order to function, besides, it tends to grow over time so you want some free space, or your computer will slow down dramatically. So use the other drive if you can.

Not all projects can be saved with this method. It depends on if there's a plugin that caused it to crash, or if the entire project itself is corrupted. have you checked your backup folder?

@@FireWalkMusic i tryd to search the back up but i cant find the project, when my project crushing the last plugin that shows is fruity wrapper so i tryd to remove it but its still says in the top left before crushing fruity wrapper

I don't get an option to remove a certain plugin, what can I do? I know that cracked plugin is causing this and I wanted to replace it with legit plugin but can't get the option to.

I made a backup of my song, but both, the original *and* the backup are corrupted... There's only the option "fix project headers"... "Remove the plugin that crashed when file was saved" only appears when I use working projects... fml Also, there is no "Backup" folder (That's not too bad because I haven't opened my corrupted project for 8 days or so) The most disappointing thing of all this is that I actually used Fl Studio Stock software *only*... Edit: I didn't manage to fix it, but I reproduced the error by letting my pc crash while using Fl Studio^^ It turned out that the file gets too damaged, so there's no way to fix it. I make backups of all my songs now.

HEY I FOUND A SOLUTION open corrupted project Click on the FILE window and select "revert to last back up"
