1/2 + 3/4 Rachets
14,15,17,19, 3/4 sockets
7mm allan Key
14 MM wrench
Rust Check (penetrating fluid)

If you jack up through rotor it looses tension on sway bar bushing which makes lower control arm wings easier to pull out.

i heard you have to life the trans a little bit with a jack is this true

You did not have to disassemble the caliper like that. Just the 2 mounting bolts and pull the whole assembly off in one piece.

jack the tire up and use a pry bar to see if there is any play. There shouldn't be any at all.

Definitely DONT try and push the caliper in with a flat head. When you do need to put the caliper back together, take off your brake fluid reservoir cap and then take an old brake pad and a big c-clamp and slowly clamp the piston down with the old pad protecting it and voila. Or just buy the $20 kit thats made specifically for compressing them.

So you can't just take the lower ball joints out? Or you have to do the control arm also?

you can for sure but you need a press and it's a tedious job. Tried it once that way and ripped the boot on the new ball joint so never again. Also makes cars with showing rust look better. The price really isn't that much of a difference.

The damn plate for the bushing won’t go back over the sway bar bushing

yep! I had to use a jack on my sway bar links to pry up. I got it to work after that.

Dont remove brake caliper, thats extended job.

@@SqueakyClutch okay cool. My 2012 speed3 has 120k and I was curious when I'm looking at having to do this. Could probably use them now cuz I hear some clunking sometimes when I turn but I'm lowered on ksport coils too so idk if that has something to do with it
