The older Hayter Spirit always has those small Philips screws holding the underdeck cover. Later ones are same size screws but have a Torx head. Screws often get replaced with bigger screw because the fixing posts (part of the top cover) break out.

Nice . The spirit has self tappers to hold the shell on . The Harrier has ten mm more beef.

Spirit 41, it has another reason for a bouncy front end, that L shaped bracket you put back on can snap! I'd advise putting those bolts in with blue locktite so they don't fall out in the future.

Mick, you know that spring has a release lever built into the connecting rod. Undo that nut on the side of the lever, then pull the lever down to take the tension off the spring. Then you don't have to struggle. 😉
