Easy to follow and thorough step by step tutorials do it yourself (DIY) to help you with your broken lawn and garden equipment including snowblowers.
I do my best to teach you how to easily diagnose problems the fastest, quickest and most efficient way with real repairs beyond just replacing a spark plug. These tips are for both the homeowner and shop owner.
Whether it be a handheld, two stroke, two cycle engine like a chainsaw, weed eater, weed wacker, string trimmer, grass trimmer, line trimmer, hedge trimmer, strimmer, brush cutter, leaf blower, or four stroke, four cycle units like a lawnmower, wood splitter, lawn tractor, snowblower, pressure washer, generator or a ride on mower that needs parts installed or replaced, I’m your go-to guy.
My favorite brands of spark plugs are NGK and Champion and are the ones I recommend.
I’ve been a small engine mechanic for many decades and also run my own repair shop so my videos are loaded with tips and tricks that I have learned and want to share with you. You will also find many tool and product reviews from top brands on my channel as well.
I have the largest Small Engine Repair Video Library on KZbin and the entire internet with over 1200 videos, just GOOGLE "DONYBOY73"!
I want "DON THE SMALL ENGINE DOCTOR" on KZbin to save you time, frustration and most importantly, MONEY with my HOW-TO videos!

Did get my Husqvarna 136 Saw to start. Did a lot of cleaning. Muffler, cleaned and gapped spark plug. Used 50:1 premixed can of gas. My fault for using old gas. Never had a problem before with 10% ethanol gas and oil. My Homelite 14" gas saw ran for 20 years without any of the issues I'm having with my Husqvarna ( 11 year old, moderate use ). Your videos are great. Going to take a look at my clutch since my chain moves while idliing, and my automatic oiler since oil was dripping when starting and dripped a lot while chain was moving while idling. Thank You !!

Great video! I'm happy that you mentioned that you could check the throttle screw first. You showed it so fast, I almost missed it. You could have spent a little more time on that, but besides that, it was excellent and if I ever need to replace the spring, I know how! Thanks!

Yet another beautiful video by Donyboy73: Clear, concise, things to be careful about (like the recoil mechanism), well-photographed... He does it all! THE place to go for all your small engine questions. Too bad I didn't watch this until I'd pulled the starter rope lose from its handle and now have to re-do the recoil mechanism! Watch first, do later! Keep up the GREAT work!!!!

saw in one of your Q and A videos about your wife's condition. i hope she is doing well. i can relate as my wife has lupus which is also an autoimmune disease. it's a rollercoaster ride as far as health goes. wish both of you well, and thanks for the many times that you've helped me. i've learned to repair a huge variety of things because i have to and we can't keep paying people to do them. i've never heard of that condition, but can imagine what you and your wife go through. thanks again.

A+ as always, thanks!! Man I WISH I watched this before removing a clutch the other day, I did "the rope method"....dude I have had to grind wrench-sockets for custom sprocket-drivers to remove plenty of my climbsaws' sprockets (always needing to oil those roller-bearings on the shaft//clutch interface) and I never jam the cylinder I just put the sprocket-driver bit onto my ryobi impact drill and gun it CW full-trigger and it works w/o exception! Am new to this style of 'hidden / invisible' clutch on the 660, which I'm working a pair of right now (am no pro am just doing this for myself, well not pro chainsaw guy a pro *tree guy*!), and I just totally defaulted to the 'jam the piston' method w/o even realizing I wouldn't have even had to make a special clutch-driver! Well, there's a 2nd unit that still needs its clutch removed so 1 outta 2 is better than none ;D Thanks as always, it's funny I've developed a habit wherein, before any procedure I don't know "with my eyes closed", I've developed a tendency to watch a handful of 'randoms' and then watch your content *last* before doing the job, am removing the other unit's clutch right now lol, but yeah I think your stuff is just so great & to the point that it helps getting more elaborate explanations elsewhere, seeing & hearing another's take on it, and then watching "the dictionary"/authoritative piece of content on your channel as your final, I suspect it's just like studying "varying sources" and finishing with the encyclopedia or dictionary, the 'objective final piece' (can't believe how young you are, I mean I can tell you "look young for your age" and all but you're obviously not 50 and you've got the mechanic-skills of someone far older!!)

Hi donyboy73, I can understand why some get confused with 'how to's' on a small mower because they look nothing like a car engine. But they will never learn if they do not try. A lot of this is obvious but no one can get proficient if they don't try. This is where you videos are so helpful. Thanks. Take care. mrbluenun

I've got a Husqvarna 61, after only one minute or less of operation the saw will stall while cutting. I am guessing this could also be caused by a stretched clutch spring? I have taken off the clutch plate, the spring is not broken but perhaps it is stretched, I am not sure. Great video by the way.
