I am doing this repair right now and cannot for the life of me get the new joint on the drive shaft. It like the splines aren’t matching up. Cleaned them up and greased it but still no go. Ever hear of that?

I have not heard of that. I do know everything fit easily when I did the repair. I would confirm that the part is supposed to fit your year make and model

Mine was that way. I used a bearing press on it. All my splines lined up and everything was clean. I have had zero issues

So I had the same issue with my 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee and went reinstalling it for some reason it seemed slightly shorter, so what I did was attach the other side first and then find a spot I could tap on it using a piece of wood with a hammer and it seems that the other side popped out, the shaft spins but does not spin the wheel, is there an easy way to get the other side back in without having to by anything else? I’m wondering if there is a clip on the other side also I haven’t taken it fully apart yet this literally happened to me earlier today and didn’t not have the time to continue working on it

Why not switch out to an aftermarket drive shaft once you took the OEM one out?

Good question. Mainly has to do with cost. Why spend 500 when 150 takes care of the issue. I’m sure one day it will get new shafts but until then stock works fine.
