Mine has been leaking for months and I was contemplating having someone come in and fix then I found you and $54.00 later no more hot water leaking! Thank you Nita!!

Thank U for this video 👌🏾🙌🏾.... it gave me the motivation & courage to attempt to fix my leaky tub faucet. Once I opened it up....mine had a ball valve.... but it was the rubber seats that had worn out. So, I replaced the springs & seats..... and now, No more leaks!

I need to do exactly what you just did to my own tub! I called a plumber first and was told it would cost $1,000 because they would have to tear out my sink and cut a hole in the wall to access the pipes. You didn't have to do any of that!! Thank you very much for this video.

Great tutorial. This shows homeowners that this stuff is not hard to do and can save themselves tons of money. I always say try it, it's already broken so you can't break no more. One suggestion. I always rub plumbers grease on all rubber seals so there is no rough dry fit or risk of damaging seal doing replacement. I just installed 2 new Delta Porter tub/shower units and one was leaking. I just removed and returned to HD. I hope the replacement is good.

WOW!!!!! Great job Nita! So let me ask you a question. I see the NEW cartridge you had but it looked like you kept the old cartridge and just replaced the 2 old rubber washers and the old rubber & spring pieces. Also, does the NEW cartridge already have new springs and rubber washers with it??? If it does, it seems like it would be better to replace the entire cartridge. Thanks for your reply.

Yes the new cartridge has new springs and rubber bands. I did put the old cartridge back to finish the video. I had to run to Home Depot to get the new one. I saw that the old one was too busted when I took it out of the wall. Good eye 👁

How do you know what size cartridge you needed? Is there a product number on the old one? Lastly, do you have to release pressure from every water source location in the house or is just the bathroom you are working on? Thank you
@breandnita57474 жыл бұрын
I had the Delta Crome sign around my faucet. When I took the cartridge out, I went to Delta website and it was a match. My part # is Rp19804. And is a Genuine Delta part. (There’s other brands, I wanted the original brand) Home Depot, Lowe’s and any plumbing store carries these. I didn’t see that cartridge # on the old one. I keep the empty box in the drawer because it has the part # on it. (I’ve replaced it twice in 18 year’s) Lastly, shut the water 💦 off in the entire 🏠 house, otherwise the water will run out forcefully. Hope this helps 🤗
