I have been having issue with my steering wheel locking 7 times since 11/30/19. I have a 2016 Chev Sonic LT. Bought new. There is no ignition lock as in other vehicles. The key will turn but the wheel will not budge. I have viewed soo many You Tubes on this matter. I am at my wits end. Would you say that perhaps there is an issue with the pin thing inside the column?

Thank you this video was very helpful however if you have a Honda the Locking mechanism is a little different. It does not disengage that easily you have to really get a firm grip on the steering wheel and at the same time slowly turn the key two accessory mode simultaneously. I always wig out every time I do this and every time I do do this it wasn't intentional.

My problem is, I recently replaced my ignition, ignition switch and door locks because my car was broken into and ignition was punched out. Now, I start my car and drive off. As soon as I drive and go to turn the wheel, it locks up. It should not happen since the key is turned and the car is obviously on. In addition, these are all new parts.. I currently start my car with the old ignition switch wired in a way that I hot start the car to bypass the new ignition all together. Any ideas for fixing? Steering column messed up? I thought about shaving off the wheel lock pin if I couldn't find a resolution.... I have a 96 Toyota Camry 2.2L Thank you!

This doesn’t work. News flash might work for your type of car. But 99% of cars when the wheel is locked it also locked the ignition cylinder. So you can’t turn on the accessories

eh, i kinda have an issue. We were moving our broken down car in the driveway and the steering wheel was unlocked, and during moving it locked. It was hard to turn it due to no power steering the first time around so i figured i would just pull it with more force. Well, i pulled it and i heard a loud bang, and it turned a little bit, and it has more play now but its still locked and i dont have the key to find out what i did, do you think i fucked somethin up.
