So this is not the fix but the replacement. However, nice video. The line roller bearing is the problem with almost all Shimano reels. Within two years of using my Stella 3000 FJ, I had to take it apart and clean it 4 times. I also replaced once all parts of the line roller.
@WestCoastFloridaFishing4 жыл бұрын
You are correct, thank you for the nice comment! I haven't had to take apart my stradic that many times since I've owned them but every case is different!
@panicg4 жыл бұрын
@@WestCoastFloridaFishing It depends where you fish. If the water you fish is often dirty due to rain falls, then the line roller gets dirty more often. I guess, fishing at ocean or clear lakes will not have the same impact.

Have you ever used ABEC-7 grade ceramic bearing with stainless races as replacrments when repairing or upgrading reels? If so, are they noticeably better performing than the stainless bearings and do they resist corrosion better/longer?

I have not used that grade bearing at all so I am of no help!

and my vanford has loose it cklick pin some how.. but is that part so importan just for the click noise? i mean it still works to fish with.. but i dont know if that part in the bail is needed? and how tight should i turn the screw that sets it abart ..the last step i mean when you tighten the linerollewr screw from outside
@WestCoastFloridaFishing Жыл бұрын
Dang! That Sucks! Not super needed no, just a cool feature. Tight enough where it won't back out. Or put a dot of blue loctite. Thanks for watching!

hey i got a stratic 1000, 2500,c3000 . you think the parts would be the same for the 2500 and c3000? ik the 1000 is smaller, so i guess not that one. just wondering
@WestCoastFloridaFishing3 жыл бұрын
You’re absolutely correct! The parts for 3000 and 2500 are almost identical! The 1000 size has some smaller part sizes of course!

tried something klike this on my stradic fl..not so much grease as you do.. but the lkine roller is quiet with rubberband and stuff.. but when fishing and retrive a lure its on again and sound terrible
@WestCoastFloridaFishing3 жыл бұрын
Your bearing might be bad and no amount of grease would fix a corroded or grit filled bearing. Try replacing the bearing (rd13269) I think…

@@WestCoastFloridaFishing thanks for the part number, my shimano stradic FL 3000 started to make that same noise while retrieving a lure but didn't make a loud noise when just using a rubberband moving the line roller back and forth. I took apart and cleaned it out but still made the noise. Must be that bearing, hopefully thats the case. I'll update the comment when I get the new bearing part and replace it, thanks for your help man!
@WestCoastFloridaFishing3 жыл бұрын
@@jcthugsta no problem buddy! It’s definitely going to be that line roller and it’s the bearing that makes the noise. If you can slide the bearing onto tweezers and put as much pressure on the inner wall of the bearing you will be able to see the difference in a bad bearings vs a good one! Definitely let me know if that fixes your issue!! Good luck buddy!

@@WestCoastFloridaFishing it worked! just got the bearing (rd13269) and replaced it with this new bearing and it's quiet again like new. Thanks so much for your help. I’ve seen the one video that recommended not oiling the line roller. So which is right oil or no oil? Thanks again
@WestCoastFloridaFishing3 жыл бұрын
I would not oil the line roller bearings but I would pack it with grease to ensure a barrier impenetrable by saltwater!
