Towels I used to Clean my Dirty Dirty Hands
Tub O Towels TW90 Heavy-Duty 10" x 12" Size Multi-Surface Cleaning Wipes, 90 Count Per Canister :
amzn.to/3tYIL53
Make sure you add the gasket and the Red or Yellow Lock...
OB2 Scanner Code Reader I use to erase and read codes:
amzn.to/2OhSOTg
I included the link for the pigtails in case it helps- because I got these ones from the TOY Yard --yunk yard... I only removed the top pigtails (top connector) and did not ripped any wires - so it is all original wires...

Several problems may cause a P0353 code including:
-A damaged or defective ignition coil
-Damaged, defective, or corroded ignition coil connector
-Damaged, defective, shorted, or corroded ignition coil driver circuit wiring
-Loose connection at coil
-Broken connector locks
-Damaged or defective ECM (rare)

I had the same code on my 2010 malibu😮. Started as a P0303 code. Replaced spark plug and ignition coil. Then got a p0353 code afterwards. Apparently when I disconnected the connector and connected it back it had somehow cracked. Good stuff bro.

I did not replace the coil just the plug connector - the gasket (inside the connector) was damaged so it was not clicking / connecting properly to the coil. First thing you can do is swap the coil with another coil and see if the code changes where you swapped it. Check if the wires are damaged.

What was the engine doing when this code came up? Running rough? At idle or running down the road? I have this code and my expedition is running rough at idle and seems like a bad misfire but no codes for misfire
@RookieRepairs
@RookieRepairs 9 ай бұрын
Have you service your car? Spark plugs and coils? Check your coil connections. It was a bad connection to the coil- runs and drives great but when you ran into a bump the rough run/ rough idle would start. If you try to connect the connector again the rough idle would go away and come back at certain times/ or bumps.

Nice nice… How’s the condition of the spark plugs? When was the last time you have replaced them? What about the condition for your coil boot? I would remove spark plug Cylinder 7 and move it to Cylinder 6. And make sure the coil plug connection for Coil Cylinder 7 makes good contact and not lose or damage. Sometimes the wires for the coils are worn out and damage. Best of luck. I have a 2004 Grand Marquis with a P0355 code problem. I've replaced all the plugs, all the coils, replaced a second #5 coil, replaced plugs twice, cleaned the coil connectors with contact cleaner, installed a new throttle position sensor, new idle air control motor, new fuel filter, air filter is clean, had the vacuum lines checked. Still the same problem. RPM's drop from 800 to about 500 when you come to a stop after about 20 seconds. This has now caused my AC Compressor to stop working. What do you suggest? I've been to 4 Ford dealers, and they won't even work on the car.
@RookieRepairs
@RookieRepairs 3 жыл бұрын
Have you or shop check compression on cylinder 5? Did you use Motorcraft coil? Motorcarft spark plugs? So I believe they check for vacuum leaks- also sometimes the connector do worn out and don’t make good connections - in this case your cylinder 5. You might have to find a new shop to help you out with your repairs.

@@RookieRepairs Thanks for your reply. I took the Marquis to the Ford Dealer in Pembroke Pines this morning. I get a p0355 code on a scanner. Connectors look good and have been cleaned with contact cleaner on all coils. A new video surfaced in May of this year on youtube by Anthony H. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rnewZGqsg9honNk&lc=UgxlX8blzCbeAyKkLwh4AaABAg.9PZ7xBAX2HG9Pg6kgui_oC He's a former Ford Master Tech. I believe he's pinpointed my exact problem, which is that the PCM needs to be reprogrammed. Hopefully the Ford Dealer will complete that procedure this week. I'll let you know what happens. Thanks for your interest and help.
@tompastian3447
@tompastian3447 3 жыл бұрын
Pines Ford diagnosed the problem. The PCM needed to be reprogrammed. It also needed a new vacuum tube, one plug and coil replaced. I conferred with the following Ford Dealers and none of them even suggested reprogramming the PCM. One of these dealers, Auto Nation Ford had the car a full day and said it might need to have the PCM replaced, and that Ford no longer carries a replacement, so they gave me back the car at no charge, not fixing anything. 1. Sawgrass Ford in Ft. Lauderdale 2. Auto Nation Ford, Miami 3. Metro Ford, Miami 4. Palmetto Ford, Miami 5. Gus Machado Ford, Hialeah, Miami 6. Kendall Ford, Miami 7. I had a bad experience with Lorenzo Ford, way overcharging me on repairs for another vehicle, so no need to confer with them about anything. They refused to tell me their hourly rate. They also do not apply the diagnosis fee to the repair. Pines Ford does apply the diagnosis fee to repairs.

If its connected its connected lol just cuz there is no "click" locking it into place, gives a misfire? How would the computer even know a plastic locking pin is not secured? It can be connected but if no locking click is in place it will have issues... I wana see the code threw before and fixed after! lol All sounds like malarkey but im about to find out first hand. My prob is circuit A ive been hunting for days. has no plastic shroud for connector neither the red lock BUT it still connects fine and does not slip off on its own. But if i get a new connector shroud so it can lock "click" and that fixes the problem...... ill go a lil f*kn nutz to say the least

P0203 is usually caused by a bad fuel injector or wiring issue. You can swap your injector cylinder 3 to injector cylinder 2- if you get P0202 it’s a faulty injector. If not check your wiring for your injector cylinder 3.

Normally for that code it’s your VCT solenoid : which may have been worn out or stuck open- poor maintenance will caused this with dirty oil. It could be simply not making good connection- both sides disconnect and connect back on. Here’s a video: you don’t have to remove your valve cover only the gasket where the VCT solenoid is connected. It’s a torx bit that holds the VCT solenoid. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gnPIgGmsedR-qZo
