I have the same exact couch , in dark brown and had the same issue for a few years finally this week decided to do something about it and we thought the same way. I got as far as getting everything attached but just could figure out how to attach the springs . came across your video and well i ordered a Motorcycle Exhaust Spring Hook tool from amazon $8.99 both two of them. Gonna try and finish it up tomorrow thanks for the video its great to see a fix in action.

Hi. Please let me know how it goes as I have to replace his mine as well. I am wondering how hard of a process it is was for you. Thanks

Hope it went well! Glad this video helped

Thank you so much for creating this video. I have a 3pc CB Axis 3 couch that has super saggy springs. I'm sure the tabs have to be broken, so I will be doing this surgery.

Good luck, let us know if it worked!

Thanks for showing this to us. Just shopping for a Lounge right now and it's good to see the actual suspension system.

I read an article saying that the flexolator grid spring system is super low end, and I have been trying to source replacement grids for my GFs couch. No luck. If I cannot find it, might just replace this shoddy system with a zig zag system, or buy a different set. In short, flexolator is bad...

These couches are pretty but the flexolator systems just don't seem to be worth the money. I bought mine used so I had nothing to lose, but I would never shell out thousands for new ones from these brands. Just my opinion

Hi. I am about to try and fix the exact same couch. I have yet to open it up. Do you happen to know the size of the springs? I want to purchase them just in case. Thanks
@jeffd239811 ай бұрын
Hey I'm not sure what size the springs are. They weren't the issue though, it was only the brackets holding the springs. I'd be surprised if the springs are bad considering they aren't the weak point. Good luck!

Thank you for your response. I appreciate it.

The plastic rods that are perpendicular to the metal grid are snapped for my couch. The brackets and spring are pretty stable. Any ideas how I can fix that?
@jeffd239811 ай бұрын
No idea honestly. It's nearly impossible to find any parts for these couches. Maybe you can retrofit with metal rod?

I have the same problem with the plastic rods breaking. Were you able to find any plastic replacement rods?

I'm not strong enough to expand the springs on my Room and Board sofa even with the exhaust spring puller. I need something like a washing machine spring tool.

Those springs are no joke! Im surprised those flimsy little brackets held up as long as they did
@jalundblad8 ай бұрын
@@jeffd2398 I think the tension is too high now as the brackets are a liitle bit shorter. I ended up getting a 15" hand jack upside down inside the base with the T-handle motorbike spring tool. Wear eye protection! I could see the end of the spring/bike tool with my head well clear of the base opening. I really want to replace the whole thing with a Pirelli webbing.

This is much harder than it looks. Getting the fabric off of a Room and Board sofa section is a bear.
