Hi Andy, and anyone else watching thinking about a fix for fine scratches on the speedo and tacho plastics. I spoke with the watchmaker I work with and he uses Autosol metal polish, and a soft cloth for plastic watch glasses, which is thicker and more cost effective. Being a clockmaker and not working on watches, I didn't know this but I will use it on my bikes instruments in future. Thanks for all your efforts Andy, in providing us with a great channel 👍

Sorry to say so Andy but the air bubbles are due to the application rather than the product. If you hold the protector in a dish shape and roll it on to the screen very slowly you should be able to avoid them in the first place. Just gently keep the pressure on with a roller of some suitable size and they go on well. I use the case of an old lipsyll tube!!

A common fear of slow application is dust getting between the protector and surface. I've found if you can manage to get some sort of cross airflow, either via a breeze or a strategically-placed fan, that issue is resolved and you can go as carefully as you please.

I'm not usually swayed by KZbin influencers' recommendations but, when I wanted a dash protector for my Ducati Monster, I remembered Speedo Angels, who were sponsoring the channel at the time. Unfortunately, they didn't cater for my particular model but, after a couple of emails, we arranged for me to send them the dash cover, (which luckily can be separated from the electronics), for them to use as a template. Within a week, they had made me a custom two-piece protector, which fitted perfectly (no bubbles!) is completely invisible and is still doing its job two years later. So a big thumbs up to Speedo Angels for both the product and their customer service. Highly recommended. 👍

I found your channel a few years ago when I was looking for reviews on the Beeline. I did buy one, and I'm happy to hear they are sponsoring you. I bought a RAM mount for my Beeline. It attaches the ball with a longer replacement handlebar clamp bolt. Really easy to install and the arm on the RAM mount allowed me to mount the Beeline further from the bar. It is in about the same area as the TFT now. This means I can glance down and see it easily without looking all the way down at my bars, which I felt took my eyes off the road.

I have used the Speedo Angels screen protectors several times but most of the time been thwarted by the dreaded air bubbles and took them off. The big success is the GS TFT as they do a Tempered glass protector that has no air bubble problem, more or less just lay it on and it sticks itself down with no bubbles.

Lots of fun as usual! I would also replace the cheap plastic brake reservoir with a nice black aluminum Rizoma tank for low cost as you look at it proudly displayed high-up on a Triumph. This would match your navigation device. Next, I would have tooted my horn for that stopped driver who seemed lost and confused at the intersection. Maybe he didn’t see you and would have suddenly darted-out in any direction without warning as they do here in Miami continually. Lastly, I also have a wind squeal in my Schuberth helmet. After using the polishing compound, I suggest wiping the surface down with Isopropyl alcohol and water 1/2 and 1/2. With the fresh towel, that will remove the oils that are in the Polywatch. That is the final step detailers do before any PPF or wax or ceramic is applied. Great looking bike - Check out having a ceramic coating done on it. The newest ceramics have come a very long way in the past couple of years and now are almost magical in their protective qualities, and will last hundreds of washes, over many years.

Morning bud, the screen protectors were one of the first things I done to my girl. I can tell you that, despite having worked with vinyl for 20+ years, my results were not much better than yours. Worse still is that they move as they expand and contract with heat and if you are unfortunate to be washing the bike during that movement, water and crap will get in behind them over time. I will be replacing mine over the winter, so I basically I got 1 season out of them. Oh and I'm enjoying the Japan tour, I have always wanted to go there and experience the culture 👍

By this time, it was about a year old. Technical support tried the usual remedies of uninstalling and reinstalling, rebooting and so on. Eventually, they replaced the unit and it worked. Although they were still none the wiser why it happened, from my perspective, the problem was solved, so good customer service despite the thing being well out of any warranty period.

I wonder if an optician uses a similar product for polishing glasses? One good tip of how to not get scratshes in the first place, leave the key alone! No keychains or "remove before lift-off" thingies. It's a hard one this year. Raining almost all November, and snow now for 3 weeks. Here in Denmark! It's not fair... So riding films are much needed! Thank you mr Flyer!

Weirdly after a few days the bubbles disappeared, so happy days! Scratches aren’t due to keys contacting - they were hairline, due to being wiped with a cloth…

@@TheMissendenFlyer Oh, ok! Good of those bubbles to dissappear!

with those air bubbles, for a future attempt, you can use a slip solution underneath them - you spray the face of the clocks with a bit of soapy water, plonk the screen protector on top and squeegee away.

Quite difficult to fit with out getting air bubbles. You can use a bit of fairy with water solution but I tried to fit a darkened film to my car side windows many years ago and I remember it being a nightmare to get rid of the air bubbles.

Anytime working with stickers use a bit of dish soap so you can get the bubbles out.🎉

I have purchased two sets of Speedo Angels in the past. (Two different bikes). Didn’t work either time, not a fan. Love the Beeline )
@TheMissendenFlyer11 ай бұрын
They’ve worked pretty well for me tbh - the bubbles I talked about disappeared on their own after a few days!
@rickparkinmoto11 ай бұрын
I've fit Speedo Angels to my bikes. I've always used the wet method as their website says it's the most effective. A weak dilution of Fairy Liquid in a spray mister lets you slide the protector around to get the perfect placement, and I've never once had a bubble. I like the Beeline, but the actual display only takes up 48% of the screen area. I'll buy one when they use more of the screen area. If you're taking your eyes off the road it should be for as little time as possible. A great idea with a flawed execution. Maybe we'll see a MkII at some point.

No T cut on paint it is too abrasive, try Meguiars 210. I have a video on my channel using a Rotary with Meguiars PlastX.

I tried those screen protectors on my Pikes Peak- got an antiglare one. Seemed impossible to fit without bubbles and the antiglare was pretty rubbish too.

Those air bubbles would do my head in. You’re supposed to wet the surface with soapy water before installing the protectors. Then you can move the protector if needed and it’s easier to get the bubbles out.
@petefletcher11 ай бұрын
Make a hinge with a bit of tape and "roll" the protectors on.
@darrylbray691911 ай бұрын
Put mine on after using a spray bottle onto the clocks, then you can move it to the exact space around the perimeter of the clock ,no bubbles
@TheMissendenFlyer11 ай бұрын
That is the recomended way.....
@30NLF11 ай бұрын
lol it’s the way you applied the screen protectors, always start one side and use the application to push down to minimise bubbles.

For that price that gps display better be good. I'm kinda lucky, if I top that price with a few quid I can get the bluetooth module installed to my Steet Triple, so I can get the turn-by-turn navigation in an even bigger display.

The beauty of screen protectors is that you can remove them, warm up your lens and apply new screen protectors them rub out the new screen protectors. Warm up the new protectors to hopefully help rub out the bubbles.

Good review. I have a macna heated jacket with attachments for trousers and gloves etc. Be interested to know how you get on with yours at colder temperatures. E.g. at weekend I was out . . It was 0 degrees but sunny initially and then the freezing fog just descended making it at least -1 and with the dampness even colder to the feel. The macna jacket only just coped with that. Do let me know how you get on with yours . I have to say I'm tempted in those conditions to put a mid layer over the jacket to help keep the heat in!
@TheMissendenFlyer11 ай бұрын
Yes I have had similar experiences - I think a mid layer as well is advisable if it’s sub zero….
