This woman is so damn fascinating and photogenic. I don’t even paint my nails with regular polish but I’m here glued to the screen while she talks about short bitten nails. Which I don’t have either haha.. but she’s so captivating. And I say this after binging MANY Naio & Kirsty videos. 😻 I really appreciate a woman being bold and doing her thing. Incredible talent 💚✌🏼

When I used to get my acrylic nails done as a nail biter it hurts way more if you loosely hold the nail during filing at the end, since the nail is weak and fragile it feels like it’s pulling it off with the file 🥴

I had this problem with a toenail after banging it. I HAD to have something to protect the nail bed where I lost the nail and I had about ¼ of my nail left so I tried it. I had to infill and file every week for 6 months before I had the courage to remove the acrylic for a look. That nail had grown in so beautifully that I now have to slip a light layer of acrylic over the other toenails so they all look good together because that one looks like acrylic when it's bare!

I have a condition where my nails grow like paper, it's a variety of ehlers danlos syndrome. I use acrylic to protect my natural nails and it is so good. They're healthier than they have ever been, and if I do damage one, I just need to use short acrylics to act as armour til it heals up.
@Aki-ht8qb4 жыл бұрын
Wait someone else has this problem? My finger nails are think like paper on most fingers and so soft and they get flaky? Like the layers don't stick together. O have given myself papercuts with my nails a lot. They are so soft I can't evwn keep nailpolish or gel or acrylic on because it just comes off because my nails are so soft. I somehow believed it was my diet or something and I'm always nervous getting my nails done since it only last like a week or 2 on me

I had a pinky nail that acquired a fungus-- on my non-dominant DISPLAY HAND, no less. I was afraid to do anything to it but polish it to hide the fungus until KZbin nail tech Sarah Burchett showed her mother-in-law's nail that had the same white fungus I had. She was putting clear hybrid gel on the nail and watching it for any changes. It didn't change a thing with her MIL's nail fungus over months, so I put clear hybrid gel on my nail with the fungus and watched it closely. A month later I filed all my nails down to do a fill, but I didn't quite get to the one with the fungus before bed time. Overnight I broke that pinky nail off, halfway down my nail bed, and didn't even feel it! The next day I noticed what had happened. The whole part of the nail that had the fungus had broken off. Now it's been a couple of months and my nail is now growing past it's natural free edge, and get this: THE FUNGUS IS GONE!!! It broke off with the nail! It seems that the near-constant alcohol cleaning of the nail bed that I did while the nail was growing out seems to have cured the fungus! I still can't believe it!

Why did you put the form so far away from her nail? I thought you should put it right up against the nail, but you’ve got a good amount of skin between the form and the nail. Is this because the extension would be too far up with the side walls and such if you put it back up against the nail? Thanks for doing these back to basics videos, I’ve been enjoying them and absorbing all the tips and tricks 😊💖

I dont chew mine but the break off and tear off on strips... my nails are very thin and i can only have them not hurt with tips nail silks and uv builder gel i do myself right now....i was doing dipping powder at a salon before Covid-19 ...why do these salons insist on grinding your hails down?...mine are too thin already ..doesnt primer help it adhere better than grinding? What kind of powder are you using?
@leannayovanov44904 жыл бұрын
This video is actually surprising me so much. I have worse bitten nails then her, and I go to the salon to them all the time, and different places too, and never been turned away or had to sign anything. About the only issues they had was my cuticles Being too hard and that I don't relax my hands😂. I've never had that experience, and actually even with my nails growing so fast I've had sets last for over 2 months before, but I also have very dry nails so it had great adhesion, and mine don't grow any faster than others nails. Also I just ordered nail supplies to do my own while on quaratine, and I'm glad to see that I can use a form with bitten nails and not have to use glue and tips while risking mold and bacterial growing under my nails which happens a lot with me because of glues air bubbles trapping liquid.

I've been doing this as well. If a client walks in with short bitten nails I fix it with acrylic. And it last longer and they tend to not bite anymore. I have saved so many clients nails by applying acrylic even though people bash me. I don't want to spend even more money on nail forms and as you apply the gel into the plastic nail, will I need nail forms at all? I'm not trying to critique, I'm just trying to learn, but I see you place the form in such a way that exposes some of the skin in front of the bitten nail to the acrylic application, I was just wondering if there would be any potential issues with doing that?
