Something has broke off the reg which is why you get that thump noise when you first press the switch .....the mech is jerking slightly. Could be a missing plastic collar in the motor that somebody forgot to replace or the ends of.the outer cables where they meet the motor housing are frayed or bits missing allowing excess movement when first powered up or down.

My 85 C10 kept burning motors due to the lock up from friction. Thought about doing this but thought it would ruin my seals. Did this and it worked like a charm. Great video! This tip is priceless for old classics

This really works. I used the pb blaster silicon spray on my 2002 nissan sentra driver side window on the window and the control and now the window goes up and down.

DO NOT USE ON TINTED WINDOWS. Any lubricant is going to seep underneath your window tint and it will start peeling off. If you have trouble with slow windows its better to replace the rubber tracks.

not necessarily. any window tint brand or installer would not recommend getting this on the tint. if you want to take the risk go ahead, it's not my tint!

Silicone will not remove tint, but you should wipe off any overspray.

I recently looked up the spec sheets for wd-40, silicone, white lithium spray and even Tri-flow with teflon that locksmiths swear by. Everyone had petro in their ingredient list. I called WD-40 and asked about if it's safe on rubber as they claim. Was told it's safe but only a light coating. If you put to much. Sounded like it will weaken the rubber and deform it if saturated.

Winston Smart if you spray the silicone spray in the tracks a couple times a year you will deuce the risk of binding windows altogether.

The squeak is just the liquid against the glass. It will dry in a few hours or days. Have you never used a squeegee to clean your windshield????

I take it its not "dry " silicone ? Ive only used regular blaster for other stuff. I had one window that was really tuff to go up because when i had it replaced they used very bad glass !!!! The motor struggled ! Didnt fit to great ruining my rubber at the top of window as it shut. Similair to your window ,but j30. Anyway ' i used dry silicon for sliding glass door in house . No gumming funk or smell or nothing . Worked superb ! Then i started thinkin how much dirt my back and side windows get from wa. weather and dirt and how waxing wasnt working either. lol. . i'd get the wind pattern crap for side mirrors and straight down the back window with just a couple hours of driving in misty weather. So what i did was tape off my body and trim then i cleaned my window very well as not to trap dirt under the coat and gave it a quick coat then wiped off excess with a towel. It didnt discolor or fade the window in any way. Cant tell its there. So its been a solid 5 years and window still goes up fast and still no watery dirt wind patterns on side or back windows even if it snows and dont wash car for weeks. lol. i learned this by myself. hehe.

window regulator keeps breaking about to install 4th anyone know what might be the issue? first tangled second wheel broke and 3rd plastic piece that slots into base window broke apart. seems like just bad luck to me but trying to get another experienced opinion to see if i am missing something.

Could be something in the track binding or your using a really cheap part like Dormen parts

Most likely a bad window regulator. Donely way to tell is to take the door panel off and inspected.

In most popular videos I look through they always use WD-40 Sillicone Lubricant instead of Generic normal one to fix these issue ( ScottyKilmer, ChrisFix, etc ) Will it be ok to use normal one instead instead of silicone lubricant version? Does those 2 have big difference ? I found buying silicone lubricant un-practical as I already have practical generic WD-40 for daily use ?

Generic WD-40 dries up very quickly. It is great as a penetrating oil for temporarily breaking mechanisms free, but it is far away from a permanent solution. I highly recommend WD-40 Silicone Lubricant to prevent any damage.

This is a horrible way to fix a binding issue. A binding issue is when something is not aligned properly during the install like the window is clamped in the wrong location maybe higher on one side or more to the left or right or a cable is to tight. I've used this exact stuff on mine when it was going up slow and it did nothing g and it was a new regulator. My cable is super tight on one side and has slack on the other side

Never put Rain-X on Windows if you plan on tinting them later because it creates kind of a permanent invisible residue and will be hard as hell to put the tint on, almost impossible.
