Absolutely sick and tired of my LG washer (HE) leavning gray streaks on all of my clothing, My black clothing comes out a total mess. The machine is only three years old. I've tried cleaning the machine with vinegar and baking soda, I've tried tablets (enviro tablets you buy on Amazon and add, with hot water cycle), etc. We don't use fabric softener, we don't use too much soap and we always use HE soap. I sure hope your tutorial will help us fix this problem. Thank you. Subscribed.

Hello my dear , I hope it worked for you. My Washing Machine is also LG and it’s literally brand new it has been 4 months since I’ve bought it but from last month it started to make some yellow stains and making the coloured clothes in a disaster look. I changed the soap I’m using from powder to liquid and same as you I don’t use fabric softener but it still has stains on it after it’s done washing , tried to wash the tub for 4 times , removed the accumulated dust and still the same there is no difference. Did you try using this method to fix it? Does it work? I’m really stressed out from this problem . Hopefully you found a solution to fix it🩵

Mine is 2 years old and I’m having this issue. Our first machine was a basic GE machine and we never had this issue.

@@jcwphs6227 Unfortunately, my boyfriend is the handyman and he refuses to try this. Says it can't be done. I am SO FRUSTRATED about this. My black clothing still has gray streaks ----- six months later. It looks like I am going to have to hire some appliance repair guy or other. Oh, how I HATE spending money on this type of stuff. I have used Affresh now many times, tried adding white vinegar, etc. etc. Gahhhhhhhh.

That dirt can cause a brownish stains in the clothes? There is another easier way to clean the machine? I thinking maybe with bleach and baking soda. Also I watch a video a lady was explaining how to drain all the water from the wash machine she show a little door in the machine that has a hose to it. I don't see it on mine though. Thank you for reply

Do these machines that top load also have some kind of filter in the back like a front load that we have to clean out? Do you have a video for that?

@DuctTapeMechanic Thanks! I was contemplating moving the machine out from the wall to see if there was a filter in the back, you saved me the time and effort. I'll just have to clean out the center plate as shown from time to time.

Is the screw reverse or regular threaded? Should I loosen by turning it clockwise or counter clockwise?

I have literally been having this issue with my clothes getting these light grayish/light black stains in them for the last couple of months and i have a newer washer, but I have had it for about a year now and haven’t cleaned it so I’m hoping this is an issue going to clean it this weekend and I hope to God that it fixes my problem because I’m sick of buying new clothes

I use dawn platinum dish soap on the black marks. It's super concentrated and a small bottle is like $1.25. Other dish soaps don't work at all so save yourself the hassle. Just apply to the stains and wash in hot water. It removes the stains 99% of the time.
