I've been dealing with the wobbly wheel syndrome for a little while now, I finally got some time to take care of it. Well it's Sunday June 26, 2022 and and I didn't want to go to the Home Depot.... Soooo I went to the KZbin store and seen your video, your hack is completely AWESOME!!!!!! I Went outside and did it and it worked awesome. My mower looks brand new to begin with, but now it pushes without the wobble. The wheels are solid. You saved me some money and for that THANK YOU GOOD SIR, JUST SUBBED YOUR CHANNEL

Thanks for the video! I did fix wobbly wheel following your method of using soft drink to shim the axel, it is not totally perfect but good enough for my nephew, as the wheel kind of wobble much less 8-) it is after all 26 years old lawnmower, engine still good, also I just replace the drive belt and clean carburetor! Thanks.

Nice little tip! Even though there are no bearings in the plastic wheels, I like to glob some bearing grease in the once in a while during a tune up. It seems to keep the wheels spinning freely, and reduces some of the friction that leads to the dreaded wobble

Well done Luke nice use of shim material from a pop can. Steves Saloon did one using copper pipe provided you have room to drill out the bore to 5/8 inch and we use bronze isostatic bushings with only 0.001" clearance from the shaft size.

Hi I was getting this old mower ready for sale, but the wheels really let it down, I had some thicker aluminium sheet but that didn’t work so I thought of the can and it worked well. It’s something that everyone will likely have around the house. On a better mower I probably would go the copper pipe route, but for this the coke can did the job. Thanks for watching 🙂👍

@@menditman2004 To use the copper pipe you need to drill out the bore to 0.625" and your wheel did not look like it had enough meat for that size. Additionally, you have a much better fit since the ID of copper pipe is approximately 0.028" bigger than the 0.500" axle diameter.
