NOTE: If your root password contains a single quote (or potentially other special characters, I only tested with single quotes), this will not fix it, you have to change the password.

@@SamuelVolder Maybe it is not like this in all versions, but I originally used a password that had the single quote character ( ' ) in it, for example, 123'ABC. Even when inputted correctly , I was not allowed to log in, and was given the access denied for root user error. Eventually I used a password that did not have a single quote (Such as 123ABC instead of 123'ABC), and there was no longer any issue.
