Thank you. It's 2024, and option 2 worked for me. I had to try a couple of different cables to get the kindle to show up on the laptop, then it worked.

Hello. First method didn't work. The second I cant try as the device won't show up on my PC at all. Any other alternatives?

You probably tried different ports and different cables? You could try and use different operating system. Sometimes windows is a bit stubborn. Check if Kindle is recognized in hardware configuration menu and it just doesn't show in File explorer. You can check if kindle is shown in disk manager, like usb drive is.

Hello greetings, I have a kindle Paperwhite 2 which charges normally and its screen does not have any apparent failure, but it turns out that when trying to turn it on the screen remains blank and illuminated, when resetting and doing hard reset it shows me the screen of the child in the tree but nevertheless it turns white again and remains like this with the light on the screen until it is completely discharged, I realized that when loading and removing the cable the green led remained on, what do you think it could be? Based on the latter, could it be that the button is faulty and remains closing the circuit? or something else?

Try using different cable. It sometimes takes quite a few different attempts.

You just don't see the .txt extension at the end when you save the file, or do you delete that extension manually and it doesn't work.
