Thank you so much. It's Sunday night, I have so many dirty dishes and we have an f11 error. We have tried all your suggestions and now we think maybe the pump needs replacing. I am so grateful that we could trouble shoot this because I hate calling a tech just for something simple. At least I know we have tried to solve it ourselves

I had the f10 situation and when the repairman came he cut(trimmed) that tube that connects into the sink drain so it was flush with the pipe..That dishwasher drain tube thing was too long and creating a hang up where food particles were getting stuck/clogging. it happened soon after the dishwasher was first installed and after that repair it has never happened again..That was 2009..Still going today Enjoyed your video. Nice job. I have replaced the thermostat and heating element trying to trouble shoot why our machine isn't heating the water anymore. I went to look at a new machine and the salesman said I was better off repairing my Asko as they are made to last 20 years or more..At least they have been made that way in the past. I may have to call a repairman since my most recent repair ( putting a new heating element in just today) has not solved my problem.

Thanks! I love that we have each other to learn from so we can try and troubleshoot on our own before paying a lot of money to get it fixed professionally. What motivated me to make this video is how EASY of a fix this was to make my dishwasher start working again. I wanted to help someone else save money, if I could. Hopefully our ASKOs really do last 20 years. I’m 3-4 years in and I’ve already had to get a whole bunch of things fixed on both of my dishwashers. I learned a lot from your comment so thanks for taking the time to write that!

Unfortunately first hand from working in the industry asko are certainly not made for 20 years. If you get ten years you’re lucky. They are incredibly unreliable. I have their clothes dryer. I have had one unit replaced and I’m on the 6th repair in 3 years. Miele is far superior to asko in every way.

This was huge. Thank you for this video. Had an F11 and ended up having to clear the line under the sink. Much appreciated. Now can you help with the built in kitchenaide microwave.

Glad to hear this!! It feels great to fix, and know how to fix your own stuff, right? I stay on top of the maintenance stuff I do in this video and I haven't ran into more error issues...yet! haha. I don't have a built in microwave, but any time things break down or isn't working well in our house then I often make a video to help other people once I figure out the fix.

Hi, just wanted to say thanks for this :), I’m a technician in New Zealand, have an Asko in my workshop, f10/11 faults I’ve not been able to resolve… your video gave me a “lightbulb” moment, specifically the toothbrush into the pump vent, did that with a screwdriver and a lot of rubbish came out (plus the tube to the top rotor).. and so far so good …. Awesome.. Thankyou very much :)

Great - glad to hear it. Love it.

Further to my previous comment, the dishwasher has gone thru it’s cycle without faulting… so to expand for anyone else, remove the lower spray arm (it pulls off) and clean the jets (holes), remove the upper one (unscrews), do the same, remove the upper basket and the nozzle that feeds into it was also blocked , poke the rubbish out, unclip the cover (obvious how), then you can run the dishwasher without the arms for a few mins and the gush of water will clear any blockage in the pipe….. anyway thanks again for this video, saved me replacing the flow meter which was my next step… 😊

@@doreenrg youré welcome... Asko isnt a brand i usually work on, and i dont recall seeing a similiar fault on other brands, hence it wasnt an obvious fix... I went to KZbin bascially for ideas and yours was the 1st video i clicked on... had already checked drain, sump, etc... it was when you put the shortened toothbrush in the vent hole that it suddenly clicked, poked a screwdriver in there and out all this rubbish came ! Asko is a good Brand, esp their older stuff... this dishwasher has the cabinet off in my workshop and i can happily report its very well made (you learn what to look for, ie properly pressed stainless steel folds and joints), its up there in quality with both German and American brands !

If the drainage error problems persists it’s likely the dishwashers were not installed properly with the hose loop in the back.

F11 - blocked filter. Cleaned as in your video. F10 can appear after F11 fixed. F10 indicates flooded lower internal floor of the machine , which was caused by the blocked filter. The flooding can be not visible ( as it's in the lower internal floor) and is only rectified by removing front lower panels ( F20 torque bit screws) and remove the water with a sponge or rag. F10 is a safety sensor warning of flooding which can be caused by a number of things.

10 error is about water not getting in, no? What you described should be error 30, I think.

There is a trough in the bottom of the machine. It catches and holds overflow or spilt water. You've found an easy way to empty that trough. Why the water was there is another problem.@@fleurgoonan1437

i have seen other asko videos and no water is in theirs and has a yellow sump pump filter. ? are you sure that water is suppose to be in bottom ? i am having that issue now and that is what is the problem ?
@doreenrg Жыл бұрын
There shouldn’t be water above the screen area, for sure. When my dishwashers broke and I had to have an appliance guy come over I asked him if a little bit of water under the screen was normal. He said it was. Even when I start draining the water by starting a cycle (like i show in the video) it never totally drains that small amount of water under the screen. Occasionally after a cycle is finished I’ll find water pooled above the screen. When I press drain all of that water does go away above the screen. I think the times my dishwasher has water pooled above the screen is bc my kids likely opened the dishwasher when it wasn’t completely done and the dishes ended up drying completely so it looked like the cycle was done and dishes were clean. With the yellow sump pump you’re talking about I wonder if that is in newer models? All I know is that as I have diligently kept the screen cleaned out and that basket inside the screen cleaned out, I’ve had no issues. Knock on wood!!!!!!

I want to say that I’ve had that issue before too. When my dishwasher was still under warranty though (so an appliance guy fixed it and it was covered). I would still try cleaning out the screen and making sure there are no pieces of food in that trap within the screen to make sure that’s not part of the problem. The reason I would recommend doing this is bc whenever my dishwasher starts acting funny I clean the screen filter at the bottom and make sure that’s all cleaned out and it usually gets over its problem. I plan on posting future fixes to this dishwasher as problems arise though.

To be honest it’s not a good idea to have the drain connection thinner or smaller then the drain hose otherwise yes it will clog. It would be like having the opening on a vacuum wide for items going up the hose and then the opening between the canister being half the size. It doesn’t make any sense.
@j.marley8365 Жыл бұрын
yea but there are various filters...the connection is pretty much always smaller...just is.
@lukiejames Жыл бұрын
@@j.marley8365 Where it is an issue is if you have certain foods that expand in water. Such as Cous Cous or rice. Normally it creates blockages in the spigot that connects to the drain hose under the tap if the spigot hasn't been properly drilled out by the builder who installed the pipework. A filter does nothing for those food particles that are able to get to the bottom of the sump and be pumped out and block up. I work with appliances for my job and quite often when issues arise with drain errors this is the issue.. a building issue not an issue relating to the design of dishwashers
