It's the safety pin feature. (Unless it's not lighting up at all.) The pin is at the right/front where the arrows are. The lid has to push this pin down. I read the manual, lol.

Ok, so I've had my 1500 watt Ninja for 13 months now. Until now, I've never used the largest pitcher. That's when the power light started blinking. At first I though I had a lemon on my hands so I decided to Google for troubleshooting ideas. Sure enough, once I attached the lid I discovered the 2 arrows didn't match up. Problem solved. Huge thank you. YOu save d the day. I super love my Ninja…the mega 1500 watt. This appliance is the bomb!!!
