i have been fixing things like this since i was a teenager, nice to see somebody else that takes the time to repair things rather than chuck away and get a new one - thank you

Thank-you soooooo much.Exact same problem on my GOP300SCE (300watt version) Was going to order new brushes from Amazon but it turns out the netural cable had snapped just like yours. Very dissapointing for a 'Blue' grad professional tool that is uased very little in it 2 years ! Anyhow you saved me a great deal of time with your simple diagnosis. Top Man !

Hah mine broke mid job, had a quick look at this and 5 minutes later I was up and running. Cable broke in same place and I could feel it through the outer sheath. Brilliant.

Always worth trying to fix before buying new whatever it is. That was worth making a video of, hopefully, it will inspire people to have a go themselves, as long as they are competent obviously 🤞

My pmf220ce seems to lose force/torque even when the pressure load on it is not significant. It will stop altogether during jobs until the force is relaxed. It just happens all the time. Any ideas

If I saw that right....yours stayed at low then actually ramped up to high speed for a second...is that right? Mine seems like it has no speed control but I am wondering if that cord is causing my problem as well. Mine jumps up to a high speed with with no speed control.

That problem happens a lot with mains powered tools. Rather annoyingly, actually putting the tools back into the boxes often necessitates tightly bending the flex in order to get the box lid down. Inevitably, this leads to stressing the core and the resulting metal fatigue. I've resurrected countless tools in the manner shown. Just wish that the manufacturers would take this into consideration, but then ... they wouldn't be able to flog you a new one. God knows how many people just throw them away or pay through the nose to have them repaired. Even with battery tools the vibration often breaks the contacts inside the machine. Once you identify where the fault lies, a dab of solder usually makes them live on a little longer.

Hello Dr Pipe, I presume your a plumber, me too! Thanks for this, I've got the same multi tool with the same problem, tried to 'quickly' fix while on a job the other day but was disappointed when the 2 screws at the back didn't release it, job to do at home lol. So now I know it's 2 more screws means I don't risk damaging it with my big ugly plumber hands hahaha. Thanks again!

Mr Blues oh I’m not sure you do have to undo the other screws ! but at the same time you can give it a blow out all the dust in there ! Enjoy the channel all plumbing and heating related stuff. All the best.

Hello good video! Hey I don't know if anyone has encounter the same problem as me, if I turn it on it swings side to side with no problem but when I start cutting into any material the blade won't move & just stays still without cutting any ideas on what might be wrong with it ?

Maybe disengaged within drive train or worn out

i would think the brushes could be gone causing it to not make contact under load

A bit of spit would have lubricated that cable - pulling it with pliers would have fatigued the cable again.... not ideal.
@rachelpydiah41863 жыл бұрын
Looks like the damage occured when it is packed away and the cable is stressed to get it back in the box. Poor design.
