Thank you for your video, it helped fixing the same problem on my 2014 Prius V. By the way it is exact he same part number for Prius V. I went to a junk yard and pulled it from a regular Prius, put it on my V and it works no problem.

With c1231 only does that suggest its only the sensor that needs to be replaced? If so, have you ever assembled the sensor to the clock spring? Is there a method of alignment and winding up the spring correctly? My anti skid light is stuck on and on live data it reads stuck at 850.5 degrees.

Q: Just changed to a new clock spring. I still have the traction light on. Is steering calibration doable from home or would I have to take it to a shop? Thanks in advance

FOr KIa Venga it was checked the same errror C1231. But at KIA service it told me to change steering colunn. Is that right if in error I have "Steering Angle Sensor"? I think that there are two seperate parts.

Could only just replace the steering angle sensor and not the clockspring an u get away with just replacing the sensor or do u have to clokspring and steering angle sensor thank u
@YotaWorxs Жыл бұрын
Yes you could if the clock spring is ok.

I have 2011 Prius, I had same error and after a while ABS light turn on too, I check in the dealer and they said the sensor is the main probleme and if I replace it all codes will be erased. I found a used sensor in ebay, the seller said it's in good condition. What do you suggest?
@YotaWorxs Жыл бұрын
Buy the part replace it and hope you don’t need any calibration if so you’ll need an some what sophisticated obd scanner…. Still cheaper then the dealer in my opinion lol
@BilalBaghdadi Жыл бұрын
@@YotaWorxs yes, hope so. Dealer asks for 600$, ebay 120$. He said it works properly without any issue and the car is 2015. Thnx for your reply

Ive watched every other video on clock spring replacement and this is the first one ive seen where you remove the power from the fuse box instead of the 12 V at the back! Great stuff 2 questions: Im not able to remove the 19mm bolt with a regular drill, will an impact driver be able to ? 2. The back of the airbag has a yellow and black cable, but mine only has the one, yellow. What does that mean? What does the black do??

I would try the impact driver next for sure! Most likely has a ground source elsewhere but make sure the replacement part is the same 🙌🏼

Did those 2 code throw some warning light? My steering is very stiff after changing clock spring. Do you need to calibrate SAS after changing clock spring only?

Do you have codes now?

@@YotaWorxs no code as far i know. But steering is very sticky. Sometimes abs/vsc/skid/ all lights show up then dissaperar immediatly. I suspect i need better scanner? Tried to scan with cheap 80$ zus obd2 reader but no code. Maybe i need better scanner?

@@MrDaldagnuur ok yes more then likely it may not be reading all computers also you will need to perform steering angle calibration. That maybe the reason
