excellent video. My car is pulling a code for a bad Angle Sensor. The Angle Sensor is connected to the Clock Spring in the back. The Angle Sensor is causing the traction control light to show that it is inactive. To separate the Clock Spring from the Angle Sensor I used a small screwdriver to slightly nudge the two pieces apart.

Thank you for this video In my Prius 2010, the buttons work to rise and lower the volume in the stereo, and control the air conditioner, but they don’t work for the front LCD panel (green fluorescent display)… have you seen something like that? Thank you.

Thank you for this great video! I successfully replaced the clockspring hoping it would fix my unresponsive steering wheel buttons (bottom right, including the defrost). No warning lights or new issues after install. Unfortunately, it did not fix the unresponsive buttons. No error codes either. Any suggestions on what to try next?

The button component ( a few buttons grouped together ) might be broken. These can be replaced on the steering wheel usually with air bag removed. I buy stuff like that used on ebay.

That is either the button module on the wheel or the clock spring!

I have a 2015 Prius, with c1231 code, which suggest maybe just the steering angle sensor, Ebay sells aftermarket senssor only but their compatibilty chart only goes up to 2014. Have you done this on a 2015 sensor only?

The clock spring includes the sensor. I suggest buying a used clock spring as the after market ones do not fit well at times causing a huge waste of time.

What would you have done if some of the buttons didn’t work after replacement of the clock spring? My Prius had this issue. All the other buttons on the steering wheel now work, wxcept for the display and trip buttons.

@@leonardofranco5098 it could be the steering wheel button or a bad replacement clock spring. Did the same buttons not work before and after new clock spring?

@@Mrelectric423 I have three different steering wheel assembly replacements for the buttons. Each one I put on works as much as the next one. Almost everything is new. The clock spring is new. The buttons are new. I had the tracer pad ripped from the original one. So now I put a new button pad and wires. But the display and trip button remain non functional.

I ordered a new clock spring but it won’t get here fast enough. How can I disconnect the horn in the meantime? I can’t drive because the horn is intermittently blaring

The horn always on is probably not the clock spring. Might be the button in steering wheel is stuck. This happens when it gets punched too hard.

I replaced the clockspring and now everything is working normally again. However I’ve got the airbag light still on. No codes according to my obd2 scanner…

Is it ok to change clock spring while battary terminal is connect?

No because you are touching airbag wires and airbag could explode. In fact you don't want to change any electronic parts with battery connected.

@@Mrelectric423 so how can i fix the clock spring sir? Mas clock spring is ok my main problem is i want to turn the clocks spring correctly. Because i try to disconnect na battery the prblem is i cant turn the clock spring because is lock.
