Thank you so much for making this video! I messed up near the end with the spring direction but I sorted it out! The most challenging part was swapping the key-blades that little pin did not want to stay put for me when I was hammering it in but then I was able to hold it in place with electrical tape and get it to go :)

awsome video used this technique for my chevy equinox key. worked like a charm just had to do a little bit of filing on the key end to have secure fit with the pin.

Thanks for the video. My only critique is that when you reassemble the keyfob, the section where you reinstall the battery clip and battery (3:13) we can't see how it is assembled. You might want to refilm that section because it is critical to putting it back together. Thanks again.

You don’t have to drive out the pin you can just swap everything over to new shell.

Will the key need to be reprogrammed? Or will it work once it’s put back together?

@Batman-to7qc5 жыл бұрын
Just replaced the fob on an Equinox and simply switched out the entire blade assembly. No pin driving and reinstalling necessary. Much easier.

Question? Why cant you just switch out the keys instead of popping out the blank key from the holder?

@ingridnonyah98426 жыл бұрын
The demonstration was accurate except for one thing. When you are opening the original key it is very difficult. It’s manufactured sealed and you have to break it open. Be careful not to damage the mother board when doing so. Good luck mine worked but the spring action for the key so good but that could be my fault lol

If you're only moving the blade from one bob to another, why knock the pin out? Just move the blade in its holder.
