So if the sensor is working and the dtc p0016 still exists could it be from a weak timing belt

If the sensor is well clean and check if the sensor has not been changed, because you can fit in other sensor with different oil pressure directions. Please confirm all before the timing. Check electrical current also

It cpuld be this or cam sensor or crank sensor or car is out of timing always start replacing sensors first u can test them before u buy

It’s not a sensor at all. It’s a camshaft oil valve.

That does not fix that code, that means the timing chain or belt is stretched or jumped timing. Not the variable timing solenoid

The variable timing solenoid has 70% effect on this fault code... please get it right before your next step

@@GH-Auto1 That’s a lie, usually you would get a over advance code or retard code. I’ve been a technician for 21 years and a variable timing solenoid has never fixed a correlation code. You need to get it right before you post non sense that waste peoples time and money.

Alright thank you. It's enough,no insults.You can post what is good for you on your channel. I did this several times on different cars and the fault code disappear. So what's your problem for the insult. If you are a mechanic and you fix wrong timing and you get this code. That's your own fault.You have to deal with it.

@@GH-Auto1 Where did I insult you? And when or where did I say I did a timing job and got a p0016 code after that? You are spreading incorrect information and it is going to cost someone money because they think you are right when you sound like you are guessing. I have solenoids the move the control valve and they still don’t work because it can’t handle the fast pulse width modulation from the computer. You need to confirm this with a scanner but modulating the vvt solenoid and comparing the duty cycle to the actual cam angle the cam sensor is seeing. Saying 70% of the time it’s the vvt solenoid is a lie because 100% of the when I get that code it’s never been the vvt solenoid. Trying to say I’m a bad mechanic because your feelings are hurt after someone calls you out on your nonsense is ridiculous but I’m guessing you are not a certified mechanic and from a foreign country giving such bad advice

I'm not saying your a bad mechanic please. Read the fault code and check very well if the crankshaft camshaft correlation is detected,first check the vvt sensor. If the sensor is too much dirty. The oil can't passed through. First thing is to open the sensor,if there is too much carbon, clean it very well and test the sensor if it's working then fix it back, does this cost you money than to open the hole timing. And let's say the person is not a mechanic. That will have to go to the mechanic shop for them to charge him more money to fix the timing, whiles the problem might be from a blockage VVT sensor because of too much dirty oil. If I'm giving my experience on how to fix it on your own, is that a problem. Or is it that your not getting too much customers due to the knowledge being shared on KZbin??. I'm sorry bro...
