Thanks for the video. I went to O’reilly’s to get the sensor and because of your video I opened the box and checked it, and they were going to sell me the same short sensor you originally had. I got them to go get me the longer one and they swore the first one was correct. But your video probably saved me a return trip, I will find out tomorrow when I replace it. Side note: the best part of your video was your little one talking in the background. I miss those days when mine were that age. Cherish these times because soon enough they become teenagers and it’s just not the same.

good video and ya, got the blue sheath from O Riellys ....first like many others you didn't show how you broke it out of screw lock and two, are you doing a 2 wheel? I have 4x4 and there's like no swing room for a breaker bar due to the take off shaft let alone get in a position to break it free, the sensor 2 spent 2 days in wd40 and still managed to stay stuck and strip. The only other option seems to be a ratchet with extensions and a 3 ft pipe......

Would you be able to help me out? I’m new to this repair and having a hard time finding the o2 sensor through the drivers side
@williamtunnell
@williamtunnell 15 күн бұрын
Hey. I’ve never been in a ‘19 Transit, but you’ll have a couple of 02 sensors, one “upstream” and one “downstream” of the catalytic converter. They’ll screw directly into the exhaust pipe. Follow your exhaust from the side of the engine and the first sensor won’t be far. The second sensor will likely be right being the catalytic converter. Them both have the wire and you can follow it to see where it plugs in. I’m sit that’s clear as mud, sorry. Good luck though! Thanks for writing.

@williamtunnell
@williamtunnell Жыл бұрын
Hi Paul, thanks for writing - I have two thoughts - there aren’t a heckuva lot of threads in the exhaust bung so just soak it down with some WD40 or penetrating oil and let it sit for a few minutes before trying it. Use a boxed end wrench, perfect fit. If you get it to turn even a little, put more lube and keep working it back and forth. Finally, when you put your new one on, make sure to use the anti-seize that will likely come with it. You’ll thank yourself the next time it has to be done. Sorry if I insulted your intelligence, but those are my thoughts.

This code came up after I got a small leak in my turbo. I haven't had time to check it out where the coolant is leaking in the turbo, whether it's the send or return line, but is it possible that coolant is getting on my O2 sensor and throwing this code intermittently?
@williamtunnell
@williamtunnell Жыл бұрын
Good question - I suppose it’s possible, but I wouldn’t think it to be very likely. I’d personally start with changing that O2 sensor first and seeing what happens before cracking into all my turbo stuff. Then again, if you have to repair a leaking turbo anyway, you may end up changing the sensor if it’s been damaged somehow.

@@williamtunnell Thank you for your help! The main hose that comes off of the coolant reservoir, goes to the water pump, and then to the heater core on the complete opposite of the truck decided to crack on the underside of the hard plastic, so I fixed that and shortly after I The turbo started leaking on the same side. It's a small leak, maybe one quart per month, but it was around that time that code came up in the system.
@stevecasvan5225
@stevecasvan5225 9 ай бұрын
Coolant will foul the 02 sensor. We always change them after a blown head gasket. If the leak is inside the turbo you will need to fix that first. Other otherwise you will be probably wasting your money on the 02 because you will just have it get fouled.
