I was able to identify and correct the comma splices in these paragraphs. I still need to work on recognizing the difference between clauses and how to join them. I am more confident since finding your channel. Jennifer, I appreciate all you do for me.

I believe fixing comma splices is valuable at the process of editing. You can look at writing at the other angle and correct any comma splices, using any method of these four. This will vary your sentence structure, and thus make it flow more smoothly. Honestly, I overuse two punctuation marks: "SEMICOLON" and "EXCLAMATION POINT". This video helped me brush up on my knowledge a little! Thank you! Best regards from Ukraine! Keep up the great work, Jennifer!
Thank you for the lesson. I am most appreciative of you lesson, and I was able to answer 3 correctly. I am looking forward to the next lesson. Best wishes and regards! 😊

It was helpful, thanks! How to use "however" in a sentence?
@ArtemHahauz-nm7bk3 ай бұрын
I like Jennifer's videos. However, I cannot watch them twenty-four seven." / "I like Jennifer's videos; however, I can't watch them twenty-four seven." In the first case, as you might see, there is a first independent clause followed with a period, and in the next next clause there is the contrasting word: "however" followed by a comma. In the second case, there is a first independent clause, followed with a semicolon, and next "however" followed by a comma goes. Hope this helps; hope this is not that complex.

Hi Jennifer, how are you? I have enjoyed every single of your punctuation lessons! Thanks so much for sharing your English language knowledge in such a structured and generous manner. I really appreciate it. I bought your 16 Basic Rules E-workbook, and I have a question. In The Apostrophe Exercises; number 5 says: Shes my sisters best friend. In the correction: You said: “ She’s my sisters best friend.” I believe that the correct answer is: She’s my sister’s best friend. Showing possession because is referring to the sister’s friend. Can you please let me know if I am completely wrong? I may understood your lesson. Thanks Derlly

There are plenty of tools to work with, when it comes to the, ‘punctuations’ of a sentence. I've learned over the years to, “write a sentence, as if I built something for other's to use with the lowest form of knowledge there is, which is common sense.” Each user forms their own opinions; how well the sentence flows, did I give plenty of time for the reader to comprehend, and most importantly… did the user continue to the next ;) I love it when inspiration comes. Its fragrance teases the nares; forcing me to breathe in… while closing my eyes to a sound that tastes so sweet to my ears… saying; ‘peace, be still…’ rest for a while, for I am he who comforts those who seek truth, knowledge, and wisdom… … I am a witness to him, who conquered, and overcame Death. ‘Peace, be still…’ and hear what the spirit is saying. 10/6/04(jp) jerry price
