I put a bunch of chili ingredients in my pot and when it is finished, there are deposits inside the heater part of the cooker. I can't see any cracks in the crock but I was wondering about a way to check for leaks in the crock? Thanks loads....

I made split pea soup in my 6 qt and now i have a white-ish markings around my side of my slow cooker. any way i could get rid of that? or is that now perminate on my pot

Use vinegar, dish soap, hot water, and a green Scotch-Brite Heavy Duty Scour Pads. This will remove the marks around your crock pot. The reason you see the marks is because the crock pot is porous. I hope this is helpful. :-)

I have an older 6 qt. crook pot that works like an oven as far as setting the temperature. It is like the standard old time pots not shaped like the oval ones today. I have a problem keeping the bottom of the pot and the bottom of the insert clean and keeping the hard baked on stuff on the bottom of the pot clean . I think it gets there just from boiling over. Don't really know though. I do use the bags to put in crook pots to keep the inside of the pot clean. This crook pot is at least 30 or more years old and I would hate to lose not being able to use it. Do you have any suggestions on how or what to use to keep the two clean?

Hi Cat! Have you tried Bar Keeper's friend? I prefer the powder over the paste, but it is my favorite thing to try with stuck on stuff. Hope that helps! ~ Cris

I mistakenly turned my crackpot on warm instead of low. Can I finish it in the oven?
@neomt2 Жыл бұрын
No, unless your warm setting temperature (confirmed with a meat thermometer) keeps it above killzone temperature (over 185 c)

The biggest issue that I have with slow cookers is that the Federal Government in its wisdom, stepped into the design process and mandated they be hotter, ruining them as they do everything they touch. They heated them up, and made the tops unseal-able. I replaced one from the 80's and ended up throwing it away.

My crockpot in the EU is exactly the same. Made a chicken stew yesterday and it was full on boiling on low. Wanted to cook for 5-6 hours but it was done in a few hours. Gonna try find a cheap one hoping that’ll sort it

@HaggisMuncher-y2u Second hand stores might have an old one that works. You can't buy a new one that properly slow cooks here anymore.

Chris this is Sheila from Tennessee. I have such a hard time trying to find anything on your website because I cannot read that good. I would like to know if you've got a recipe book that I could get from you I would really like the recipes where I got them in front of me where I can cook some of them especially your chicken and gravy the ones you do with the skinless and boneless thighs. My mother used to make that years ago but she done it in the oven but I don't remember what she used it's been such a long time. My mother is no longer with us but I would sure love to have Aunt Lou's or your recipe on that it is so hard for me to try to find anything on your website but I watch about every video you've got. So I would appreciate it if there's any way that you can tell me if you caught a book out I would love to get more. I am no good with smartphones and this one I got I cannot keep anything in its memory because I ain't got a lot of memory in this phone it's an old Straight Talk phone so yep it is hard for me to look up anything or to do anything on it. Thank you so much and I hope you can read this cuz I'm no good at spelling stuff either

Hi Shelia- We are hoping to work on a cookbook this year if we find the time. When we do we will definitely let the Crock Posse know! In the meantime, if you click the link in the video descriptions it should take you to the website page and at the top of that page there is a PRINT RECIPE button that should let you print the recipe to keep for future use. Hope that helps! ~ Cris

What I call a slow cooker is a pot on a hot plate, and a crockpot is a pot that goes inside of a heating element.
@MikeyGoode5 жыл бұрын
Interesting! I have never heard that before!
@ChelSierra_Remly5 жыл бұрын
I think I got that idea because the first thing we ever got was a 'slow cooker' ... and it was a pot on a hot plate. And the first time I heard of the term 'crock pot' was with a pot inside of a heating element. Well, at that time, the pot didn't come out of the heating element ... and I preferred the 'slow cooker' because it was easier to wash without fear of getting water inside of the electrical element. And this has always been the way I defined the two products.
