it does work but i still have to restart copliot icon in task bar menu, also it stil wants me to confirm admin for reg file.

I get the administrator permissions popup to run the .reg How do I get rid of this when I turn on the computer? What string can I add to the .bat?

And also I have to deactivate/activate Copilot from the settings bar, to be able to see the icon at the bottom right

Microsoft rolled out Copilot in specific regions, e.g. US, and some places in Europe. Maybe your region is not in that list..?

By the way since I created the video, they released also a Copilot app downloadable from Microsoft store.. you can also try to use directly that apps.microsoft.com/detail/9nht9rb2f4hd?hl=en-US&gl=US

in my computer copilot was not appearing and not oppening in the sidebar. After this it open at sidebar but the icon not appear in the taskbar right side yet. i will search for other changes to can make this icon appear. Thankyou this alread helped.

very nice tutorial, but it didnt work for me. i did everything step by step, now edge isnt opening with the run command but neither is copilot. no option in settings and it isnt anywhere on my computer. i even have a copilot ready notebook with copilot on the keyboard

Since you mention Copilot on the keyboard: Do you have an AI PC? (e.g. Surface Pro 10, Surface Pro 6, Surface Pro 11) Those PCs should come with Copilot already activated. The workaround in the video covers one possible solution, and was tested on a Windows 11 PC that is not an AI PC, and with a particular windows update version. It might be that doesn't work on newer PCs or that they change something in the latest windows update

Yes, this is a temporary workaround. hopefully Microsoft will fix this one day so you won't need this workaround anymore

🤣 Well if you want to stop it from showing in the taskbar, you can disable it in the Taskbar settings (right click on the taskbar > click on Taskbar settings > Disable Copilot in the Taskbar Items"). It will still be "available" in your computer but it won't show in the Taskbar
